My fan and pulley on my truck have excessive play. It's a 89 Toyota 4x4 3.0. What are they mounted to? It doesn't appear to be the water pump.

Contact Dan200 on rdc. He's got a s/c 3.4 ready to go.

Then you need one for both trucks :)

The 4x4 is a stock DD. It does fine with a 3.0. I have two speeding tickets from last week to prove it. :(

the fan just runs off its own bearing on a bracket off the front of the motor. its not the water pump. the water pump is hidden under the timing cover and is driven by the timing belt. good times to replace that, btw. haha

changing the fan bearing assy isnt a big deal.

I think I have the right part coming now. The parts counter guy told me I was wrong and sent a water pump the first time.

I got the right part today.

I haven't had time to fix it though so I've just been driving around with no belts on it. I'll fix it when I get back from Glamis.

It's now a Hybrid... I've got to charge it after driving! :)
