My swing arm skid plate just got totally thrashed last weekend so i orderd a new one which will be in by next week. But this weekend me and my buddies were going to nellis dunes. So i was woundering if its a bad idea to go? im not 100% shure

If you are in the dunes, you shouldn't need a skid plate, it is there to protect the swing arm from rocks.

No skidplate needed if you're playing on the sand.

Might want to duct tape any holes that are for screws though.

Well i would say that nellis dunes has rocks xD but im thinking if i go slow through those parts and just play in the sand i should be fine right?

Dude I just went trough the same thing, tore up my engine and swing arm skids. Caught an awesome deal at www.rockymountainatv.com and paid around $140 for both. Both skids were on sale in the closeout, might still be on sale. What exactly are you riding?

140! jeez haha yeah i already bought my swingarm plate and its on its way.
im just hoping this weekend while riding nothing bad happens(chain snapping would be scary)

apex is no place for not having a skid plate. the nellis dunes are not dunes at all. do you have the stocker laying around? if so put that on for the ride and remember that you dont have one on.
