How can I upload a dvd to youtube?

Is it a commercial dvd or from one of those dvd videocameras?

You would have to convert it to an acceptable filetype that YouTube supports.

From YouTube...
DVD files (such as .VOB, .IFO and .BUP files) can't be uploaded to YouTube. These are not actual video files but files used as part of the DVD container format. Our recommended file format is MPEG4 (Divx, Xvid, or SVQ3 rather than h.264) at 640x480 resolution with MP3 audio (64k mono).

I had a bunch of races from the 80s and early 90s on DVDs, I bought a Dazzle converter to transfer them to my computer. It's one of the easiest and cheapest ways to copy a DVD onto your computer in a MPEG4 format. From there you just download the MPEG file to youtube.
