Hand grinding instead of having a notcher takes time. I bought one of those harbor freight notchers thinking it would get me by..... it is junk. The damn thing is offset so the notch isn't centered on the tube. It is coming together quickly though.

I am going down today to get all new pedals and it should be a complete chassis really soon. A couple more weeks and I will have pictures of the progress.

Anyone need help in the pits for this race? I am coming down from San Luis Obispo to the "Save Johnson Valley" meeting in ontario the 5th. I figured since i'm down there I'd offer to help out. I came here from michigan to get into the scene, so what better way then lend a hand right? Let me know if you or anyone you know needs a hand. I'll be in my truck w/camper shell, so no worries about a spot to sleep for the night.

If you wanted to help everyone out you could man a road crossing for M.O.R.E. Jim at MORE needs people for that. This would be a cool race to watch because it being the last race of the year it seems that everyone is in it to win it.

WOW what a good bunch of cars. The competition level is great. Im gonna go out on a limb and say that Lang will be the leader going into the big loop. I think the big loop will be the beginning of the end for most cars. Cant wait, cool temps, slight breeze, lots of dust sounds great.

Hey Doug How did you guys do?

Not a real good race but it was fun to get back out there. Jamis had the oil filter bracket brake off and that let all the oil out and locked up the motor. Chris Haney was just finishing helping Cody & Corey after there little stunt and had the Dunne car in to tow when Jamis (Jamie) called it with the blown motor. It took a good hour or more to get it back to main where I looked at it and sayed I bet we can free this B*&@% up. We filled her up with oil and rocked it back & forth with it in gear and made it turn a 1/4". After that I asked Haney to hook it up to his truck and he pulled me around in gear and it started to turn more and more until it was able to start by the starter. They filled her back up with oil and rigged the lines with no filter and she fired up. I put my skirt on and Jimmy T. put his pumps on and we were off. We finished but way way way way down from the guys. Jamie and I would like to thank Jeff C./Jeff S./Chris H. & Pops/Nixon camp and the rest of the guys for staying out for us and making sure we were ok.

On the first large loop I seemed to lose a bit of power then at the begining of the second large loop the motor started knocking, I opened up the valve cover and found that one of the clips that hold the rocker in line with the valve had broke and must have traveled into the case. Game over. The car handled great I just cant believe that a $2 part took me out.

Well in that case it looks like I owe some more thanks:

Jeff, Jeff C and Jay C for the tire change. KWood and his family for first trying to flag us down at outer Hodge, then running over to inner Hodge to try and do it again! Dougy for the axle advice and bulletproof frontend, Franky for adding his 2 pesos on the ordeal and of course the Murray's for letting me drive! Sorry about the tire (and light haha).

Bud it was good meeting you. Looks like we both ended up having bad luck but at least we got to tech before closing!! :D

A little late, but I would like to give a little shout out to Frank for the help with the carb tuning, Doug for the seat pad - it worked, even when it is wet...don't ask;), and of course a big thank you to Doug S for all of the car prep help and great driving.

For a Christmas special, I have a "slightly used" set of pistons and clyinders for a special price, they have only been run with out oil for a few miles...;)

And of course, Thank you to everone who has helped us out in our first year.

Merry Christmas.
