Thanks a lot! It was a fun but brutal race. Wish you could have been there. Here is cut & paste from Thumpertalk:

"Now that the feeling is starting to come back to my hands I can type....
After years of crashing out of contention or breaking down in the big races I finally put one together. In fact this race was so uneventful for me that a lengthy race report would be a big bore. I had a clean ride through the daylight, averaging about 5mph faster than anticipated (and probably surprised some sceptics) which put me at mile 400 relaxed and ready to take on the night. I had a a lot of fun riding through the night and stayed on track with the exception of the fog, which slowed everyone down. I had a short lead (5 minutes) on the closest solo rider at Santo Tomas where I pitted at the Honda pit and got a new filter. I was passed by 402, Kornwinder there. I kept him in my sights on the pavement and was within 100 yards about a mile in on the dirt at Urupan. Unfortunately we started hitting the silt and it was game over for 9x with the dust so thick. I could only hope that Kornwinder might crash. Kornwinder kept it solid and finished 17 minutes ahead (corrected time).. Leaving me runner up for the super secret, underground, unofficial SCORE solo class & 9th in Class 22. Congratulations to all the solo riders for finishing a brutal course.

Thanks to:
MX1 West/Acerbis
Baja Bound Moto, Tim & Jenn & Crew - hauling me and my bike around Baja and too many other things to list. Without them I would not be racing in Baja let alone finishing. Oh, yeah, Ron Wilson for never hesitating to share his wisdom or set me straight.
Cosmo (Brian Salley) for shuttling my crew down from San Diego.
Airborne Andy's crew & Un450Azul/Ron for chasing on the west coast.
LuckyRide (John Uibel) Ben Hoopes - Utah's #1 Chase crew.
Scott Breauxman - The unpaid servant of the Baja forum. Using his own money & time and staying up all night at the finish so all of us can get our 15 seconds of fame, pimp our sponsors or just feel really important getting interviewed at the finish.
Everyone else who offered to help or donated to the Wounded Warrior Project."

Nice post Gabe, and congrats once again. I almost showed up on Thursday but had to remind myself why I bailed in the first place. Next year!

Nice work -- big congrats! I seriouly do not know how you guys stay on your bikes for so long over unfamiliar rough terrain for such a long time. You solo bike guys are the most intense, heuvos grandes, super skills dudes in Baja.

Gabe you going to run the point to point next year? Score should make an Ironman class.
