I see these darn things all the time on the 10 heading east. I finally met one of the guys at the Zip gas station on the Vicksburg turnoff just east of Quartzite. I asked him where they are taking all these trucks. He said Guatamala! They pick the trucks up in the San Fransisco area and drive them all the way down there to sell them, and the junk they pile in them. He said 9 days worth of driving. Crazy MoFos.

Wow! I've always wondered. I've been seeing them for years. Guatemala is a long drive. I met some people down there who had driven from Sierra Vista, AZ, in a diesel Ford Expedition. They all said diesel was the only way to go as it was the only fuel they could always get.

When I saw them at the gas station, I just had to ask. I have seen them on every trip. I am in Havasu almost once a month, and make a couple trips a year to CA. I aksed the guys how many times they do the route. They said that they run it twice a month. I don't know how it takes them 9 days to do it. It really isnt any farther than driving from CA to the east coast. I have done that in 3 days, and I know someone that did the Daytona bike week in FL, and made it back here in a day and a half.
You should have seen the setup they were running this time, craziest I have seen so far. A big box van with 2 4runners in that, pulling a smaller box van with an extended cab in it. They were being follwed by an older (1980's body style) standard cab pulling a rav4. Everything was packed full of junk also.
