kinked vent hose

I had a leaking stock valve cover on my hi-compression type 1 motor.

Leak was on the bottom and the gasket was warped. Looked like it had been pulled up into the chamber. Happened again in 15 min to a new gasket. :(

Could a kinked crank case vent hose cause the valve cover gasket to be sucked up into the chamber?
