Ok so at the last race we got bumped by a 16 trying to make up time:mad: and now I need a little help...
1)is it possible to hammer out the creases in the stinger(super trap style), if so is there anybody who knows anybody in the San Diego area that can do it
OR
2) does anybody have a used 1 3/8" exhaust system in SD that they are willing to let go for cheap...this brings up another point the motor builder specifically said we must use 1 3/8" but I know that there are way more 1 1/2" systems avail..how big a difference is it, Does the amount of backflow generated by a 1 3/8" compare greatly to the amount of backflow generated by a 1 1/2" system???

Stick with the 1 3/8" because the 1 1/2" is for bigger, higher reving engines and will leave you flat with no bottom end. My .02.

We use a 1 1/2" exhaust on our 5/1600 motor and have great bottom end power.... There is more involved than just the size of the exhaust though, so if your motor builder recommends 1 3/8" for your motor, I'd stick with that. You can buy just the stinger if you want to replace the damaged sections. Fiber-Tech in El Cajon usually has them, most of the race shops in O.C. probably do as well. It shouldn't be a big deal to repair yours, anyone who can tig weld should be able to do it.

thanks fox, but I really would only like to use that only as a last resort...if anybody has a old used one for cheap that would help alot...we took the one off the prerunner but that leaves the prerunner without ...would like to correct the problem not just bandaid it...thanks Ramsey & NBD, btw Ramsey looking foward to seeing you at the dash...maybe this time I can give you GPS info...jk
