I am building a bowtie V6 for 7200 and trying to decide what compression to go with.

I am thinking of going 10:1 and running 92/100 or should I go 12.5:1 and run 112?

I am leaning to the 10:1 option so I get better reliability and can run on premium pump gas what are your guys thoughts....

You should be able to run 91 premium pump gas to 11.5:1 compression.

Don't you think that would be pushing it? I here numbers all across the board. I know with aluminum heads, I should be able to get the compression higher but I guess the real question is 110+ race gas or premium/100

How much do you want to spend per race? GM LS series motors are 11:1 stock. Build the motor for pump gas and when it is time to rebuild you can bump up the compression for more power.

Only if you back the timing off and ritchen it up. At that point, any power you gained from the extra comp just went out the window.

Wouldn't that be a V8?? I am asking...
