is there any thing that i can do to my 3.0 to get max power out of it so i can turn my tires a lot better i would like to get a 4.0 or a 5.0 dropped in it but i dont have the time or money to do a full engine swap yet and this is out of the blue would a 351 fit in a 98 ranger

yes a 351 can fit. Ive seen a few 460's in rangers believe it or not.

There are lots of things you can do to the 3.0. JBA headers, a performance chip, port and polish, mustang roller rockers, bigger throttle body, 19lb injectors, the list goes on and on just like any engine it comes down to how much you want to spend and what your goals are.

V8 swaps are fairly common in the Ranger community. Hell, TRS has a sub section dedicated to the swap. And if someone can put a tank engine in a Mustang, you better believe a 351 can fit into a Ranger. :p But as for the 3.0, underdrive pulleys, and roller rockers with a tune are the norm for noticeable power increases.
