Thanks,
Derek

Im sure Jeff wont mind me giving an answer to his car but all I know about it is he got it from Rusty Ruby in Vegas who got it from Doug Ingram in Vegas who got it from the OG owner (maybe O'donnel?) who I can't remember right now. He had it built from Kent Lothring as the first tube chassis car from what Jeff told me, I think. Jeff rebuilt it from the ground up after he bought it and put on a ton of new parts. I did some of the work on the front beam (arms, stops, cross bar). I think Bill Shapley did the trans and Victor did the motor for Ingram. I raced against that car in SNORE where Ingram did very well in it. Ruby raced it in SNORE a few times and the "Big 9 Race" in 05. It sat in Ingrams yard for maybe 4 years before Ruby got it. I know it doesnt have many hard miles on it after Jeff rebuilt it with it racing the Powder Puff and I think one other race with his son and brother who pull over for the 11 cars to pass (sorry Jimmy). I have seen it run during a test and it looked fine and I think it's a good car to start off in. Sorry I dont have much info and Im sure Jeff with answer all your Q's for you.

Just wondering why the switch to 9 cars? I have been a 9 car fan since the 70's and would have been out there in 08, but my son(7yrs old) wanted to start racing motocross. I figured he would either love it or hate it after the first couple of races and I could get back to working on my car. Well he loved it and was kicking some ars, so I found my self working on his bike and hitting all the races we could in So. Cal. At Barona race track he advanced so fast that he has been racing against the 9-10 year old and putting the fear in all the dads of that class! Now he has his sites on a Championship, his first Mini Nationals he lapped everyone but second.

First off this DEREK. Steven is my cousin. But he will be my partner for the long hauls if he is lucky :D.
YEEEEEES SIR. I am going to pick it up this Friday:D. We need to do a couple small custom fittings but for the most part its ready to ROLL. I am taking the trans to Adam P. for a go through and its basically race ready. We will DP the motor eventually and its on. Hopefully we can get out there sometime in Jan. Its a sweet little car and Jeff (cool dude) gave us a good deal with some spares and insight into the 9 world. We are all really excited and look forward to 2009. Happy Holidays everyone.

Yeah Eugenio, at about MM75, my brother, Jeremy got in the car and at about MM90 the ring and pinion went out. We had a decent run going til then. Oh well, that's racing. We're both still trying to find that sweet spot in the car where it's not being pushed too hard or not hard enough. Its crazy how much strategy/luck is involved. Since the race, the car has been pulled apart and we have some work to do on the transmission. Abot $1000-$1300 worth as per the estimate. We'll be ready for the Feb21st race though. Are you gonna make that one?

That sucks you had some tough luck at the Dash!
Yeah Im about in the same boat as you are. We are having our trans gone through at the moment. After the Trans service I want to have the motor gone through and dual ported. We were shooting to make BAP but it doesnt look likely at the moment:mad:. Feb. 21st might just be a better date! So hopefully we can get on the ball and get rolling. Do you guys plan on running in the high desert often?
