When will the course be marked for the TL200?
Any idea yet on length, # of laps etc?
The TL comment was a Joke guys, I don't want a bunch of TL's running over me.:)

The course will not be completely marked until Thursday the 15th. Pre-running is only allowed on Friday the 16th. We are doing this because we want to reduce the impact to the course and the desert in general. A week of pre-running can really change the course conditions in a bad way.
We are going to be running the course for a forth time today because we had to make a few small changes. Once we know the exact total miles of the course we will set the number of laps. I’ll repost in the next couple of days with the information.
Hopefully everyone got that you were joking about the TL stuff. I think most people know that your not a trouble maker:D

Right around 40 miles. We have to change a section due to the dry lake bed being full of water but are still planning on keeping it around 40.

What type of pit/chase support will be allowed? Will we be able to have a few remote pits?

Do you know if Baja pits or any other paid pit support will be there?

That’s a great question.
The desert is open to everyone during the event. Including spectators. It’s great that there are no fences because that makes it too easy to restrict access when there aren’t events going on. It’s bad because there can be a lot of people out there.
Remote pits are allowed. I actually think it is a good thing to have teams out around different areas of the course. Teams tend to look out for the public while they are waiting for their car or truck to come around. We don’t want to see large remote pits with 20 different teams all in one area because the BLM wants us to use certain areas for main pit. The areas they want us to use have been surveyed wider then the race course. An acceptable remote pit would be more like a chase vehicle set up with some gas and tires. If you’re dumping gas please have a spill matt under the vehicle. Unacceptable would be 20 trailers, fuel towers and 200 people hanging out. That could cause issues for us.
Everyone needs to pickup their trash and clean the area where they are set up before they leave.
As everywhere else please tell your chase crews to stay off the course. Chase crews on the course is an automatic DQ. There are tons of access roads out in PC for them to use.
Hope this answers your question.

Thanks. That is what we were hoping. We never have a lot of people, but we want to spread the few out that we do have. Not to mention we many TL teams can help each other through out the course.
I would hate for those 1600 guys to make us look bad and, especially AZ1600;)

We will be providing files at the registration trailer all day on Friday the 16th. Just bring your chip and we will load it for you. It only takes a few seconds.

The TL 200 is being ran inside of the DRIVE Race, therefore every class is able to run and TL is it's own class. (Did that make sense?)

TrophyLite is sponsoring the race and thus it is named after them. All classes are racing, including TL which is using this race as the first race of their series that runs at several different promoters.

Take the 8 west to the Dunaway Rd. exit... Head north on Dunaway and then make a left onto Old Hwy 80 west. Plaster City East Pits are going to be on your right.

FYI Pete Sohren will be using his IonEarth Tracking gear at this race so you can watch how he's doing online. We *just* received the GPS files today so the web tracker itself is not online yet. It will be available at IonEarth.com tomorrow morning. I'll post another link once I get it setup.
I do have the maps available for the PDA/handhelds - if you have IonEarth hardware and are interested in being tracked for this event please have your team manager contact myself or Bud asap!

I just got home from the TL200 and we had a great time filming the race. Even though the entries were low (expected for the first event) we got allot of good shots and will definitely have a great video to put up here on RDC and some highlights in Dezert People 7.
Great job with your first event Doug and Jon!

I, also just got home from the race, beautiful weather, and some great racing action!! We were out and about filming, snapping photos and meeting a few new people. Tommorow I will post some pics and possibly some video, unfortunatley we ran into technical difficulties with the video (Inverter died and i couldnt run my camera once the battery died, and my tripod just wouldnt work smoothly). But we had a great time, and am glad I got to be part of this 1st event, and hope everyone elses experiences were similiar to ours!!! I will be looking forward to the next race.

Danny,
Amy and I stopped by you guys at about RM26 when you were working on the car (in the wash area). We snapped a bunch of photos of you and your buddies. Everyone at the checkpoints and road crossings was rooting for you guys to take the finish. As you were coming into the S/F area with motor trouble (I think) our spotter was saying, "Ca' mon guys!! Get it there! Another 100 yards!!!"
Next time you will hammer it. I'm still amazed at what an 11 car can accomplish. The back side of that course was nasty.
BTW, at least you guys have a great story about the head light landing in your co-drivers lap :D
See you next time,
Brian
