Correct me if I am wrong but what I understood if they scoped your tranny and the R&P doesnt have the VW stamp on it then you will be DQ'd.

On the SNORE web site they have a their current rule book online...it's at the top under "SNORE". Most organizations follow the SCORE rule book, so it should be the same.

Not until the STOCK VW ring and pinions cease to exist, or become so hard and expensive to find. Then the rule gets changed.

In my opinion that's wrong.
Here's what the rulebook actually says:
"Type 1 bug 4 speed swing axle only. Heavy duty side plate and differential allowed. Stock VW Type 1 ring and pinion ratios only (4.37 and 4.12). Stock type 1 gears only. Close ratio 3rd and 4th allowed. Axle cover tubes allowed. Other internal modifications are optional."
SNORE add-on: "No 3.88 ring and pinions and no close 1 and 2 gear shafts."
Stock type 1 gears does not include R&P in my opinion. When there have been questions, SNORE has added clarification in the rule book, even going so far as to be completely redundant with the 3.88 rule, yet no mention of aftermarket R&P. Weddle is not going to waste time and money making a product that is illegal and not sell.

Thats what I was meaning to say without having to whip out my rulebook.
