well, a long time ago, on my way down the peninsula, we stopped off at laguna scammon's to check em' out. you can see all the whales you'll ever want to see there. i'm not sure whether or not you can go out of guerrero negro in a boat or not but you really don't need to. we waded out a bit [knee high] and got really close to them. there were some oceanography students from scripps out there with hydrophones listening to the whales talking dirty to themselves. fascinating.
