are the rules the same w/all promotors in class 9? what's top speed on these cars, and how much can you abuse them? thanks for any input.

For the most part you can go by the score rules and you will be fine.

The cars top out at around 80mph give or take in accounting for gearing and motor.

They seem to take some nice punishment but you will need to do a proper prep on the car each race.

I have to hand it to this class they have stuck to the rules for decades and car owners have had that stability to rely on .

As far as fast they go fast enough to scare you .... and how fast they are can be gauged by the average speed(MPH) posted in the race results... if you go by that then this year at the Baja 1000 they were almost as fast as class 8...dont go by this example it just worked ot that way

a well built class 9 car can take punishment like a champ, as far as speed goes my 2 seater can reach 75mph and the single seater can get up to, well I would rather not say.

When is the last time (except for SNORE) that you saw anything checked ( MOTORS, wheelbase, trans ect.) or weighed (the correct way minus spares, bags, ect.). Uhhmmm NEVER!!!!!!!!!! Its always, Pump fuel, P&G (which isn't that accurate) and on the scales ( which isn't always done correctly). Ahh whatever.............

I would have to say that SNORE is very thorough in enforcing the rules. We were post race teched in SNORE and MORE last year, and there were rules infractions and post race tech methods that were overlooked or changed at the MORE races. And from what I hear about last weekend, nothing has changed. SNORE had the scales set up, pulled a head, scoped the trans, witnessed the pumping out of the fuel cell, etc. just like a limited class should be teched.

You mean weighing a car with fuel and things like bumper jacks on is not the correct way?

Hope everyone that voted on the big nine race weighed their options! SNORE has their own rule book that is on SNORERACING.net, SCORE has their own rule book that can be purchased on the SCORE's web site and all SCORE members get a copy, BITD has their rule book on their website, MORE says they have a rule book.... I have been told they are not SCORE, they are MORE when I refered to the SCORE rule book before though??? Good Luck to all the class 9 guys on getting the issues sorted out!!! Congrats Bud on an awesome race, Dave it's awesome to see princess on the podium still and Nate your getting close to a win keep with it..
