Someone posted an address a while ago where you could send magazines to the troops. I tried a search and found nothing. Does anyone remember what it was? I've got a stack of various magazines and books that I'd like to donate.

According to the US Postal web site, the military cancelled the To the: Any Member of the Armed Forces Program. This means that you actually have to send packages to a specific member of the military at a specific address. I found this link on a Corvette forum that has members of the military that have posted thier address to receive items such as magazines.

If there are any military people (families, members, and such) here on RDC, maybe use this thread to post an address where items can be sent to them over seas. Another cool addition to that forum is their expected return date so no items get sent to them after they have returned home.

Send them to one or a few of those guys ... AS long as you have somebody's name and addy they will share with others! Also, I haven't been on that site in a while but I know we are sending a lot of our troops to Afghanistan so look for addresses over there as things in Iraq are relatively "settled" down.

Just talked to a friend about options for sending packages to overseas military. He is active in the military. He said you can contact any public affairs officer at any military base, and they will provide you with more information on how to send packages.
