hey guys. ive been reading all the fender posts on here. gotta say there are some pretty damn nice looking homemades. anywho. im getting ready to do long travel on my 06 dakota and what better than some fenders for them tires to tuck :D
ive noticed alot of guys cutting out the main part of the fender and using foam to form it than you know, foil and go at it and sheetmetal screw the fender mold onto the skeleton left over that is bolted to the truck.
my question is can fenders be made without hacking up the factory fender?
what im trying to do is either do a WHOLE fender where the glass mounts to the radiator support and so fourth so i dont have screws seen from the outside or i wouldnt have to cut up the factory fender.
this is a daily driven truck but will be an occasional trail tackler. so nothign to extreme, just enough to be able to tuck incase i bottom out.
what are your guy's thoughts on making a fender without destroying the original?
