General Advice

Folks,

First - Thanks Tim for putting this venue together!

We're a couple that's decided to try our hand at racing - and with the help of a couple friends, we're going to be running a 9 car in the near future. We're hopeful that we can ask folks here for a little advice from time to time - starting now ...

So, we think we've got the car identified, next step - acquire safety equipment. What's the best place to go looking for a couple drivers suits? (I'm 6'5 and never fit anything off the rack..) How about helmets? Advice on what's the right and wrong way to go about this?

Any mistakes we should learn from?


Next question:

Since we are going to be only racing a couple times this season, we are thinking about running in sportsman class. Any reason why we shouldn't?

A great place to look for equipment is right here at RDC in the classifieds, if you can't find what you need there try "Baja Race Products" at (760) 723-2117 or www.bajaconcepts.com (http://www.bajaconcepts.com><A)</A>.... Sportsman is the best place for you to start out in, you get some race experience, get a feel for the car in a race situation, etc.. good luck to you and above all else "HAVE FUN".
