We have decided not to run the July 4th race this year for one simple reason. It's just too hot. Last year it was hotter in June but we don't want to take the chance of people getting heat stroke if the temp gets to high. The race was not going to be a points race so it won't effect the season points in any way. Going into 2010 we will look at alternate dates and locations for a charity race.
Thanks

That sucks but good call DRIVE, it does get severely hot out there. I was just looking forwad to the race and the fireworks after, it's too bad my fiance hates fireworks, I'm a bit of a pyro myself...
Wasn't this a night race though?

Doug, good call, last time we were there that time of year it was like 109 at 9PM. Takes the fun out of it.

For all I know it will be 90 degrees but it's just too much of a gamble. Last year in June it was 105 at midnight. On July 4th it was in the 90's. This year it could be 110. We are still looking at options but not in the Valley.

Fire suit and helmet with an engine behind or in front of you. Yikes:eek: Maybe we need to do a boat race on the river?:D

Are you going to make it down for the night race in May Drew? We have some new stuff planned. Possibly another new pit location and a really cool course.

Hi Doug, unfortunately our class 1 project is taking longer than we hoped, however we are going to try to enter either our 5 car or a class 1450 truck. I was just getting ready to send in an entry.

Being a 1450-org race, I anticipate there being quite a few trucks! Maybe the 1450 for the bigger entry...let's go for the 20 entry bonus!

I would go for 1450. We have 12 entered as of now. It's always nice to see racers coming back. It tells me that we are doing something right.
We look forward to seeing you out there.
Doug
