Fallon 300

Was wondering where people stay or recommendations for Fallon in a few weeks. Do most stay at the main pit area or in a hotel? Any recommendations for hotels there? Where exactly is the main pit (start/finish) compared to town? Thanks for your help.

From what I understand, most camp at the mian pit/start/finish, which is 14 miles south of 50 as it runs though fallon. Hotels: super 8, Econo lodge, Best western, Holiday inn express, all located in town. I have rooms at the fallon lodge, no parking for trailers there.

The facilties at the Start/Finsh area are great for RV's, i.e. flat, roomy, and what not, but it's always hotter than hell out there! But i think that it still beats the 20 minute commute from town.
