I want to come straight into the forum and not look at /home but as of about 2-3 hrs ago, it started kicking me to home page. The problem isnt only that now I have to click into the forum, but i don't know if the cookie path or what is amiss but I have to re-enter my login information. This morning, as in the past, all I had to do was navigate to my preset and I would be logged into the forum. Did something change with the last update?

ok the password thing is now working again, but it's still annoying to be thrown into /home. is there another way to go directly into http://www.race-dezert.com/forum/

Looks like a momentary glitch, as I was having the same problem for a short time. Someone must of been playing with the web software.

Mike @ Pit B also said he was having this problem...hope it gets fixed soon!! I have experienced it in the past and after a while it just fixed itself it seemed :) I know it can be irritating though!

By using the analogy of comparing rdc to a restaurant we simply closed the side door and ask our guests to come through the front lobby. It's one extra click.

negative, more than one extra click. Now I have to log in each and every time, or browse the open boards not logged in. Makes it a chore now.

I could think of a few people on RDC you should probably encourage to enter through the side door. If they entered through the front they would scare the rest of the customers away.

What browser are you using? I am not having that problem staying logged in. Are you clicking remember me when you login??
Personally I think with having the new home page and updating it with more info very often its a must to send people through it.

Going to the homepage supports RDC. I have no problem with that. Neither should you guys.

Something I just noticed: Did RDC automatically add itself to my "bookmarks"? Because I now have 2 links in there.

Klaus,
I figured that’s what you guys were doing BUT you can’t get past the front/home page on a Blackberry! You need to do something to fix that for sure. Being able to take my Blackberry with me to the races (Baja/Dakar) and view RDC is a great/fun tool.
I’m out of business…

Also notice I can't get past the home page with Opera. But it is only on my home computer. If I click on forum it sends me to the home page. I can click on classifieds and go there, but not to the forum.:(

I have high speed access here at the shop but one down side is that I'm still on dialup at home and it takes a lot more time to load the home page verses the forum page. It takes forever to get the forum icon to appear so I can click on it.
Someday DSL will come to my neighborhood. ;)

Since the change, I can't navigate away from the "home" page without "right clicking" and opening the link in a new window, worked fine before........ Once I open the forums or any other section in a new window, the links work normally (but not at all from the home page). Every other site I've tried works fine. Any ideas?

I can't even get past the homepage without physically typing in http://race-dezert.com/forum/index.php
When I click on the "Forum" link it just refreshes the home page.
I am using Firefox.

I have to login each time - Before I just clicked remember me and it was good. Workaround? I don't mind clicking through the home page, but the login thing everytime is kind of a bummer. Am using FireFox and have cookies enabled - Help?

The old bookmark was...

Assuming you leave yourself logged in, try going 1 level deeper in a direction you would normally go anyway. IE your PM inbox or your favorite social group intro page.

My laptop works fine, I open the home page and then click into the forum.
My desktop will not go to the forum. I wait for the home page to load and then I click Forum but it just goes back to home page everytime. What is going on?

when I try to pull up rdc from my phone It won't even load the home screen with Opera. It will with IE but I hate using it. I have a VZW I910 running Windows Mobile 6.1 and Opera 9.5 build 2701. I'm trying to Dl Opera Mini 4.2 now.

I sneak in the secret side door...when on the homepage (that just keep reloading when I hit "forum"), I hit calendar, then from the calendar page click on the small "race-dezert.com" link above EVENTS, to the left of Calendar.
This might work for you too.

I just use the FORUM JUMP at the bottom of the screen on the right. Click on Forum homes and then from there you can click back and forth to what ever section you want. It lets you "stay inside" so to speak.

when I log in, I just click the link that says "click here if your browser does not automatically direct you"
and walla, straight to the forum without a second trip to the home page. If Im on and old slow PC, I have to be REALLY quick! lol

Is anyone working on it?

See post#5 of this thread.
It's not a defect but rather a new way the site works.
A referral link is required to enter the forum.

I think its a new way the site doesn't work. I cannot get to the forum without right clicking and opening in a new window. and that only works if i am signed in.
I f I am not signed in or try from my home comp I cannot get the forum to open no matter what I do.
I must type: http://race-dezert.com/forum/index.php
I am guessing that the site is not supposed to work this way.
What is a referal link? How do I get one?

Sorry Klaus but this new wrinkle really really sucks for folks using mobile devices or otherwise have a slow connection. Perhaps you could at least enable mobile users to go straight to their bookmarks. I'm pretty sure that the website software can detect when a user is trying to access using a mobile device.

Hasn't happened yet. On my Blackberry it still redirects and the forum link doesn't even show up, so I can't access RDC forums whatsoever. This change is completely shutting out some mobile users.
