OK Gang time for some No Cal fun.
Who's going?? If you are an RGM fan one race he can run up:confused: front and heck road racing in a stock car is just plain fun to watch.
Here's where my fun mover will be inside turn 7 with a big #7 flag flying. No little dog this year, seats in turn 2. I will be there Thurs afternoon if you are in the neighborhood stop by. See spot 74 just look for the Dirt Bike on the side..

I was on the SHEET IRON 300 dulalsport ride (Stoneyford to Ford Bragg and back) just too much fun but that would be a prime RV spot for bike races.

Yes I did pay for 4 tickets each day (fri, sat & sun) along with the cost of the spot but what the heck I'm only racing one event this year (V2R). Depending on how it turns out it may become my permanent spot.

robby gordon now road race fodder? gordon will be lucky to get a top twenty. the field has caught up with all his new tech he brought with him and the drivers are just as good now. ain't nothing special about him anymore. stewarts better. kyle's better. jpm is better. jeffy's better. sadler's better. if gordon pushes, he'll wear out brakes and tires. maybe a tranny. then he'll fade back if he does'nt wad it up. all that and it does'nt look like he's got enough car this time. he said he was going for the pole. you don't sandbag all the way back to 22nd. with all that said, i hope i have to eat every word of it. gas on.

You've spilled the beans already!! He'll be driving a somewhat lifted version of the S-15 modified with parts taken directly from his TT, along with Toyos. He will be drastically cutting though the dirt and shaving 14 seconds off each lap time and will win by a large margin:D

Its gotta be one of these two things.. A. RG flat out doesn;t have it anymore... or B. Chasing the tire/gearing setup and missed.. I say tires because its possible they're a slighty diff compound than years passed. We know for a fact RG is capable of a 93+ mph lap, and he didnt get it done. Maybe getting PJ in the race is weighing to heavily on him and he over drove it..
Personally, I'd rather see him lay low, and be there at the end, rather than have a target painted on his back...

He just stayed out one lap too long. While I don't believe the caution was thrown on purpose by NASCAR to screw him, it did seem that there were several of the exact same situations that NASCAR didn't throw a caution out before and after, so I do feel that RG did get the shaft to a certain extent. I then thought to myself that if RG could work his way back to a top 10 finish by the end of the race then he easily could have won it, he definately had time to do it. However, he only gained a few positions, therefore maybe he still only would have had a top 5 because of pit strategy, but not a win because he wasn't the fastest. Jeff Gordon was right around the same position as RG after the caution that screwed him and Jeff pulled out a 9th place finish, Robby got 17th or 18th.

Yeah, yet again, he stayed out one lap to long........Just like last year. I agree with whoever said that RG is a horrible gambler, stock car strategist. Call it luck, call it nascar having a boner for him, what ever it is, He can not catch a break. And the melt down he had after that........WHile I do not blame him for feeling that way, it is moments like that when you need an owner to come over the radio to reel him back into reality. Telling your CC "Don't talk to me anymore"........There is a link folks with RG's failures in Nascrap to him being the boss. He would have never done that to Richard CHildress.
With that being said, he had a good car, he ran fast laps. But the age of RG dominating road course races is over IMO because of the COT and because of him being the boss. I firmly believe he could have had a top 10 if it was not for his melt down. Dropping the track bar 3.5" in a fit of anger made him to loose. Any CC not fearing for his own job would have told the driver NO!

Well you people pretty much covered it all.
Ambrose spun the 96 coming up to turn two almost an ugly head on, Labonte cleared the track but the yellow came and at that point, we knew RG was done. If's and but's but in the end RG will need to figure out how to do that race in 2 stops or his skills just go to waste. Double file restarts while sitting in turn 2, well you just have to see it live frickin crazy. RG was going to have 15th but turn seven did the #7 in.
We got to meet Robbie, he chatted it up with my wife while he took the time to sign a large legible autograph on the back of her new monster helmet even stopped to ask for a silver marker so it would be visible on the black helmet. PJ was signing autographs next to RG, happy guy. The line stretched around his trailer, he has a large following up here larger than I thought. Talked to some of the RG folks there real nice, the guy working his trailer is true gentlemen.
Our spot was awesome, not giving it up, real large not jammed in at all, end spot with front yard and a view of turn 7 all the way thru 9. Good food, fast cars and oh man the people watching cannot be beat. I will try and down load some pictures later this week. I just spent the day unloading and cleaning, once a year is enough for me.
Stopped by Proline Accessories new shop on the way through SF and Frank mentioned Ivan had just stopped by and was heading up to the race, hate the snake but the Iron Man made the start your engine call watchable.
We will do again next year, bigger and better and maybe just maybe RG will figure a way to get back in victory.
