Best Size Tire for my Class 1450 Ranger

I race class 1450 in MORE. I have a 2.3 liter Ranger with 6.00 gears and 35x12.50x15 BFG Mud Terrains. On most of the grades, the tires are just too big for the motor. All I can do is wind out second or third gear depending on how steep it is. On long grades it's really frustrating. I want to switch to a smaller tire so I'm looking for recommendations. Should I go with a 32 or 33? How about 9.50 versus 10.50? I intend to stick with the BFG Mud Terrains but am also considering BFG A/T's. Thanks for your input.

I went from 33x12.5 to 33x10.5 on my 4.0L Ranger with 4:88 gears and the truck is WAY happier. So I agree with BAJA619 that 33X10.5 would be better.

x 3, that's what we run on our 4 cylinder 1450 Toyota, it's happy with the 33s and 5.86 gears....:D
