Hey Guys, I need your input on something:
I have a 2005 f150 4WD that's running on 35s. The truck feels heavy and I am considering changing gearing from stock 3.73 to 4.56. My concern is that by doing that I will loose top speed as the engine will rev up too high and will cause problems with overheating, etc. Is there a way to reduce RPMs at the engine so when going at 75-80 mph it wont over rev ?

Thanks

I forgot to mention, my truck gets used as a daily driver

You'll be fine, I have the same set up and it only gets up to about 3k RPM at 75-80 mph...

first off, the truck IS heavy. 4.56 gears for 35's will get you as close to stock as you can get, but i would suggest getting a programmer so you can correct your speedo
and get rid of the top speed limiter. you'll get a little more power to turn those tires as well. As far as overheating, don't even sweat it, the newer F150 has one of the best cooling systems available.
