It is about 60 miles east of San Diego, about 1 1/2 miles south of Interstate 8. Crestwood/Golden Acorn Casino exit, take Old Hwy 80 southeast - directly across from Live Oak Springs Resort. Not to be confused with the MX track at Golden Acorn.
The track is not yet open to the public. The property owner is still working a public opening.

Here is a little history on the Original Live Oaks Course. It was built in 1971 by members of IVMC (Imperial Valley Motorcycle Club). The course hosted races there from 71 to 73 by IVMC & ECMC (El Cajon Motorcycle Club).
Some of our members in Roadrunners are children of the IVMC group and raced this course as teenagers. I never got to race this course but remember attending these races with friends (my folks would not let me race when I was 14).
Resurrecting the course has been a year long process with the landowner, forestry, etc. etc, we have been low key on this since we really were not sure if it was going to happen.
The actual work on the course once we got the OK was 7 weekends by some very dedicated volunteers from Roadrunners & D38. This is a natural terrain course, no doubles or triple jumps, 2 small tabletops in the infield for photo opps. 90% of the course is the original course complete with a controllable water crossing and an angled uphill you can see in some of the pictures.
Now that most of the hard work is done, it will be up to the landowner to maintain and groom this for future use. It would be a perfect place for vintage motocross races.

I was told the track will only be open this Sat until about noon. After that they will be closing so they can prep it the rest of the weekend for the upcoming race.

The track is open on the weekends. They have overnight campgrounds for tents and RVs and they also have really cool cabins. There is a store to by your beverages and ice and a restaurant.
