I did that ride back in Nov. It was a blast and will be back there for three days with a large group this Nov. Anybody care to join? And yes, there were plenty of guys with trials tires. I did it on my 525 with desert gearing and managed just fine. It was a little hard on the clutch at times. I will post some of my pics from my other computer later.

Only about a 5 hour drive from Vegas, it's about an hour or so West of Moab. For those of you familiar with the area, we stayed near Swayzees Cabin and there is enough area for a large group and multiple RVs. Friday we rode 5 MOH, Saturday all the color trails and Sunday we rode Devils Playground.
Here are some of my pics:

Ha......Paul and I drive over those bridges all the time back and forth to the races! I have always wondered what was down there. Have always wanted to stop off with the race truck and rip down some of those dirt roads out there in the middle of now where as well!

nice photos -- I passed on Pikes Peak Hill Climb and came down to Moab this morning -- rode up CliffHanger (Amasa Back) to practice my rock ledge skills - now it is noon and 95 degrees - climbing over 100. I cross that highway bridge everytime I go to a desert race --- I have heard that some people stop and throw Mexican M80s from the bridge -- KABOOM! -- rumor has it that you can hear the echoing boom in Vegas and Salt Lake City--- cheap deviant-minded entertainment. Devil's Canyon below -- never been down in it, but see moto and quad tracks down there.
Count me in for the November ride ---- also a good time to go spend a day at Caineville - Swingarm City -- less than an hour away!

A ride from the Swell to Hanksville is doable as well.
