I really hope they keep a lot of the footage in there of him actually racing & riding. The bike is directly from KTM prepped by Zip Ty Racing (Ty Davis). Our crew pitted him at the race and the team we sponsor (Morgan Crawford, Kevin O'Donnell) rode with him to break him in prior to the race. There is some funny stuff that went on all week. He did have a bad crash days before the race and that did not help him on race day. He was really sore. I really hope it's good!

Heard he was hurtin before-little, after- lots.
Not soooo easy- ha car 54?
I know I tried it myself in 03-finished but limped for a week after.
I do love that course.
Will do it again some day.

Well, i don't want to say anything bad about Jesse or his show, but coming from a racer's perspective, I didn't like it.
im sure from an average joe's perspective it was pretty cool.
and i have to admit, i LMAO when Jesse was at the top of a crest looking down at a bunch of rocks, and than some other dude just flys by him.

Seeing the footage makes me want to race this next year. That looks like some epic terrain! I love how the only sound byte the editors had was of a 2-stroke bike. It got annoying when I noticed it, but the helmet cams all had the 4-stroke exhaust note.

I caught the show 10 minutes in. I guess i have to give him credit for trying it with minimal prep and obviously not a lot of trail riding skills, but i think it'd be a better show for these race events if he properly prepared.

I enjoyed the episode. shows the average joe that these races are extremely difficult. The experienced riders just make it look easy! This show is giving desert racing some good PR. I think Jesse is a humble Dude and is not trying to claim he is an expert at all motorsports. The show can be a little cheesey at times but after all it is just television, If I had the opportunity and was in his place I would be doing the same thing.
I think some of these non prime-time networks should consider a show documenting an offroad race team throughout the season.
Keep it up Jesse,
Out!

I think it was nice to see real desert racing on TV and to hear Jesse say its not as easy as he though as well as his TT wouldnt even handle that kind of terrain. I have confidence jesse could have solo'd the baja 1000 and finished on a bike with the same expereince. It would have been nice to see him try a D37 National Hare and Hound instead or even a standard D37 hare and hound.
Good to see Chris, Patty and Morgan on TV.

Great job Chris and Patty. It was fun watching you guys. I can not comment on the riding/racing since I have never raced. It would be outside of my paygrade But, I must say based on Chris and Patty's recap of the water incident, JJ was truly hurting and kudo's to him for at least attempting the race. Besides, it gave good coverage to desert racing.

WTF was that water thing with McGrath.. Nice stunt that had absolutely nothing to do with desert racing or bike skills needed for that race.. IMO MC was definitely the wrong person to go to for training for laughlin. So many other skilled PRO off-road racers could have helped prepare him. just look at the KTM stable for a few.
It was very obvious that Jesse doesn't have a lot of seat time and skills on a off road bike. exc 530? poor choice for his race bike.. I would have recommended the 400 or even the 250. **BAN ME****BAN ME****BAN ME****BAN ME**.. possibly the exc 200 2stk would have been better than the 530
Expert Ironman class..
Love how Chris pretty much called it... Loved it even better they didn't edit it out.
Big Props for Jesse for racing while his back and hip was all jacked up.. would have been better to have seen how bad the black and blue marks were.. been there done that and it hurts. but he sure didn't show it.
Scott.... You got your 1/2 second of fame on the show.. :D
Funny: my wife was all scared for him and couldn't stand watching him fall knowing he already was all jacked up.
and of course.. I miss racing laughlin.. the most dangerous race in the us:rolleyes:
come on economy pick back up so daddy can get back west to do some racing:D

People know who McGrath is and can relate, not many people know who some of the other more skilled off road riders are. Its all for TV:)

i noticed the 2-stroke dirtbike sounds that were edited n also but wasnt to sure... i feel bad for jesse cause u can tell he was uncomfortable on that bike... oh well from a riders point of view the show was okay seemed a bit melodramatic... the other shows were better than this 1

I did learn that MC is the "Winningest off road racer in the world".
What was with the Yamaha pant logo on the diagram? Kind of lame when KTM was there to help out.
All in all a descent episode.

I watched the show. It was OK but I was looking for more out of it. The water crossing/training banged up Jesse and pretty much the rest of the show. Good for him for trying, but it just was not very good TV. Jesse being banged up before leaving the start line and the obvious lack of seat time on a Dirt Bike made for a bad show.
The helicopter circling while he crashed, going what 3mph, then laying there over a commercial break to see if he was going to get out alive was a little much.
I am a Jesse Fan because what he does at the end of the show -Has time for the fans.

Some of the posts in this thread truly crack me up... Folks, it's a TV show that needs folks from all walks of life to watch it. Not just crazed Internet racers that might or might not of strapped on a pair of boots and beat yourself senseless on a motorcycle. If you've done it, you know what it's like...
Jesse's not a off road M/C guy but gave it a shot. Kudos!

Ha ha, hi Chris and Kris! :)
I thought the show was great. I'm really glad they showed a lot of Jesse riding instead of just talking about it and hyping it up. I really liked the way it was edited, pretty much in the way it all went down. There was so much more they could have thrown in but you can only put so much in a 1 hour show. Jeremy's ranch is totally amazing ~ over 600 acres. It was a really fun time with the whole crew. Jesse's just a normal dude and Sandra is super cool. She was really really nervous on race day.

The only problem with the melodramatics of the show is having to explain to my wife all the stuff I did wasn't THAT dangerous.
"Honest dear, it wasn't that dangerous back then! Oh, and can you get me another Vicodin while you're up?"
Man I'm glad we didn't have helmet cams....................

I've done stuff like that but not in the last 30 years and never sober.
Even McGrath looked a bit 'apprehensive' at that.

i only caught the last 15min of the show and from what i saw he has alot to learn with reading a line or a trail , he may ride well on the street but offroad he needs to learn to read the lay of the land . i give him major props thou , he,s got tons of $$$$$$$ in the bank and every toy known to man and as wrecked as his body was for that race he still went out there and tried to complete it , not many in his shoes would do that just for a TV show . and like the other fella stated he,s there for the fans and brings a new view on the sport to a different group of viewers who may never know the sport existed .
watched the video cool stuff , awkward to watch at times due to camara angle, where was the camara mounted ?? and the course looked pretty quick , loved the short cuts as well LOL is that a specific bike course or would they race quads on it as well looked pretty narrow in some spots .

i never seen the crossing part of the show but from what i saw on the tv clip he went in front tire 1st , big NO/NO IMO i used to race mtnbikes both XC and DH and have crossed many a creek/large puddle at speed and i always lifted the front tire off the ground before hitting the water , saved ya from going over the bars .

the hare scrambles use tracks that are motorcycle only. Although I think a quad hare scramble would be fun.

JJIADM is a bit on the dramatic side but what the heck it is a fun way to end the weekend. I race the USHS and it is an awesome course and the show brought back some good race memories. Nice to see some real good people getting some screen time and I'll give JJ his due he tried for a 2nd loop but sometimes the desert wins and lets face it happens to the best as well as the novice. Pain sucks and can bring the toughest to their knees. I think Destry would have been a better teacher but he just does not have the name recognition MC has, my $.02.

You might want to actually watch the show, especially how LONG the water hazard was and how SKETCHY even McGrath looked doing something dreamed up by some TV dweeb.

Only if he agrees to backflip his trophy truck the day before the race!!! Hmmmm.... did I just plant a seed In Jesse's head???? Backflip a trophy truck successfully and finish the USHS race on a dirt bike all in the same weekend? Sounds like ratings to me!!
