There seems to be something wrong with using the word "daddy" and KTM525 in the same sentence.

Can you spray some brake cleaner all over it first, wash it, re-shoot the photo, then ask? Cuz right now, it looks thrashed.

I'll give you 1.1k if your throw some fresh tires on it, rebuild the top-end, fresh plastics, new chain + sprockets and a 2 year fender to fender warranty:D I will even meet you at the abandoned bowling alley in Phoenix, no cops, I said NO cops!!!

Ok, seriously though you need to clean that bike up and get rid of any aftermarket stickers. A can of silicone will make the plastics look better (keep it away from the brakes).

Tough call on what to ask considering how hammered it looks. ask 3k? expect to get 2.5 maybe? I am just guessing, check your local CRAIGSLIST.com and see what they are selling for.

I have a super clean 05 525 exc with a rebuilt motor and all new plastics, skid plate, pipe guard. Its been up for sale now for 8 months, really hard to sell. Originally I had it up for 4,500, and now its down to 3,800. The only KTM's that are selling right now are the street legal ones. The economy isn't helping much either. Used bikes just don't sell as quickly as they used to.

Definitely looks better than it did. Now just sit back, be patient, and learn the art of haggling.

No I'm not a KTM guy but is the chain supposed to look that loose?

http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa108/abcgabe/ktmmm003.jpg

Is that the stock chain and sprocket? If not how long has it been on there. Might need to replace them.

nope. haha yes both are stock.. I'd rather not spend the money on a new chain and sproket an just take it outta the price..

it doesnt work like that buddy.. spend $130 on a fresh set and you wont have to reduce your price $500 when a guy like me comes to look at it and notices the stock stuff still on the bike and tears you apart

Just tighten up the chain and if the buyer begins to complain use the line, "Its a USED bike". Then if he hims and haws even more then use my favorite one, "Maybe this bike isnt for you".
Chain and Sprocket is general wear stuff, just like your roached rear tire and beat up grips... I think you will spend more money that you ever get back if you went that route.

plus labor... I have almost no time so it'd be hard anyways.. I only take work off to go race the car!! or prerun. thanks alot! I definantly agree!

you ask for help on quoting a bike. right now i would say $2,000.. maybe.. someone thats looking seriously into purchasing a bike will look for exactly that. chain and sprokets, tires, and grips. spend $200 make those 3 things look new and you could get $2,500 and save a lot of hassle..

you have a very hard used bike that has been rode hard and put away dirty. anyone that knows anything will eat you alive on the price. not to mention looking at the condition of everything, your bearings are shot all the way around, brake pads are probably worn to the point of replacement etc....

sorry to sound like a dick, but 2 hours of your priceless "labor" that you dont have any time for will end up making you a lot more money off your investment.

Just to give you an idea, the local craigslist around here in phoenix has 525's selling for $3500-5000. Whether or not they are actually selling them, who knows.

I'm with racer dude too..

looking at the pictues..

I'd say you could get someone to pay you $2500 as is.. It looks clapped out and in rough shape.

say with $200 to $300 to buy new tires (cheap ones) basic graphic kit (new old stock on discount), new grips and a seat cover you could get $3000 or $3200 for it

regardless. as a buyer.. I'm going to look for the best price on a used bike.. I'd pass on this one because there are better "looking" ones out there.

you got to look as if you were in the market and what you'd be looking for as a buyer.

investing in a little more time and money to fix it up will get you a little more profit.
