Over the past few months about some new tire technology. These things are called Tire Balls. (http://www.tireballs.com/) I just found the web page but have heard some people who have tried them and say they work very well. Also the price tag is around 250 bucks a tire. Has anyone here tried them? These are supposed to be used in motorcycle and ATV applications. If these work as well as they claim, this will be a great help racing in the dez.

basically it is a submarine (annaology) It is basically a tube with individual sections made into it so that when you get a puncture you only lose a section of air rather than the whole system. I know that Kenny stewart of Scat Trak was making tires for his kid that had foam inside rather than air, no flats and no need to air it up, but I haven't heard more about this in a while.

how would something like this work on a truck or buggy? I would be interested in trying it on one of our prerunner or race buggies in a 33" yokohama

Click on the link and email them. See if they make them for your application. This will make a big difference . The psychological aspect of knowing your tires are virtually flat proof is almost worth the price. They have been testing them for GNCC races but I havent heard of them being used on ATV`s in the desert a whole lot. Or they have been really quiet about it. http://www.race-dezert.com/vb3/attachments/old/images/graemlins/shocked.gif ....... Hopefully I can get a set early into next year. 1000.00 for 4 tires on a quad is pretty steep.

only drawback to these things in desert racing is that if you pop a few you wont really know. You might go right past your pit with a low but not empty tire. It could cause problems in long races. And if 1000 for 4 quad tires is steep, imagine what it would cost for buggy tires. I'll have to give them an E-mail
