Anyone see the guy who started a clash with Greg last sunday at Sac. Seems he thinks he could bring his prerunner out and kick every ones (in class 7 ) butt at Sac. I sure hope he has the nads to back it up. Talk is cheep, lets see if he can put up.

When did this happen? I missed it..........

As for kicking Class 7 ass on the track, apparently he didn't pay an attention to the truck bodies..... http://www.race-dezert.com/vb3/attachments/old/images/graemlins/grin.gif

When Greg broke he went up to Greg and started telling him that he didnt know how to build a 7 truck and Greg got fed up with the guy berating him. One thing led to anoughter and the guy ended up with (supposedly) a broken camera. I kinda got the feeling he should have ended up with more but I would be happy to see him try and race with the class and given a dose of humility.

Okay, so this "person" who apparently was bred to be a member of the galatically stupid actually questioned Greg Hosmann's building skills? Two words come to mind, dumb and a**......

Heck, if old boy's truck was actually race legal and pass tech, I'd take donations to pay his entry fee so I could watch, have pictures, then write about him getting his a** handed to him.

To start with it is this type of post that along with throwing helmets is what gives off-roaders a bad name.

I think before you post something you should get your facts correct. I never spoke to Greg on the side of the track until he ran up yelling and shoving me about a comment I made to his co-driver. I was already walking away at the point Greg came after me. Also I never said my prerunner could beat all the 7 trucks. Heck that guy from Canada was flyin'!!!! All I did say is my truck could run the track all day without breaking. And I would run it hard too. That track is so easy compared to open desert it is not funny! I could see blowing engines or other drive train parts just because you are running on the red line almost the whole time. I could even see parts breaking from contact with other cars.

My comment to Greg's co-driver was in defense of Ford Rangers as I have 13yrs of racing or out just beating Ford Rangers up. Greg's co-driver said it broke because it is a POS ranger. I came back with looks like bad prep to me. Just my opinion, which our great country gives me the right to speak! But no one has the right to become violent towards another person as Greg did.

If Greg is such a wonderful car builder then why did his front push bumper have a tube completely broken in half? I asked if them had they hit someone and they said no which lead me to believe that it showed up to the race this way. I know what it is like to be busy and trying to get everything ready is hard. But how long could have taken to weld that tube up?, 5mins.?? He seemed to have a large crew so I just wonder why someone would leave a tube broken on their truck that during a race could get pushed back and possibly hit and rupture the radiator?

Why my comment was a 100% true according to Greg's own crew. “35" tires are to big for the stock spindle” is a direct quote from Greg’s co-driver in their pit, but yet that’s the size tire they we're running. I think if you talk to anyone with a little short course knowledge and they would tell you that’s way to big of a tire for that truck and its horse power. Call up Curt Leduc and ask him how big of tires he runs on his pro 4. I believe he will tell you 35". Hummm if there was advantage to running taller tires on a short course wouldn't one think someone like Curt and his big HP be running them. Tall tires are for the open desert! But hey you guys know everything there is to know about racing so you already knew that.

Okay we have one guy who admits he can't remember things do to drinking to many beers. Maybe he can start saving those cans to help pay my entry fee! Yes I will be back to race Greg! I am really bummed I couldn't get something put together in time to race this next race but I won't be able to. I am not backing down and I am planning to run the first short course race of next year. Start that collection Bubba!

You know I have never run into this type of child like behavior in all the years I have been in off-road racing in Southern California and that's about 16 yrs. I have work for some great teams as DAY Racing " Darren York" and to work with some of the greatest fabricators like Ed Frisk. And could give you a list a mile long of great racers who I have had the pleasure of spending time in the pits with.

So I will be up to race Greg next year with my truck that I built! No crying Greg! Hope you get that new truck ready so you have no excuses. I don't want you to break a spindle so please try and get that bug work out (that only you seem to have according to everyone I know that has built and or run a ford ranger hard!)

Tomorrow is a new day and rubbing is racing in my book.

See you all at the races!

Glad ya finally came on down here to respond to the so-called attacks........................

Since I never got to see the incident in question, I was only responding to those comments which were posted by Driftin. Now that you have responded, I can be better prepared for the following reply since you seem so interested in our profiles. So without further ado, let's dance..............

Have you actually had any conversations with Mr. Hosmann other than this incident?

Don't need to remind me, I spent a few years after high school making sure you don't lose that right. http://www.race-dezert.com/vb3/attachments/old/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Since you apparently have not seen the humor in this, then I would like to thank all the taxpayers in the early '90s paying for all those beers. http://www.race-dezert.com/vb3/attachments/old/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Really dude, lighten up a little bit. I don't know if Driftin saw the incident in question, or heard about it from someone; but I can assure you that my comments were in response to his comments. If it's not the truth, then I take my comments, but if Driftin's comments are true, then I stand by them 100%.

And last but not least, do ya think it's really fair to talk smack about someone when they don't have access to respond in kind?

Bubba,

I wrote my post to speak my side. And did not attack you or Driftin in my post. All I did is put your profile which is public info into my post. I won't come to your level and start calling people names. What are we in high school? Did you fight for the right for Greg to hit me? Yes he pushed me twice and threw his helmet at me.

Maybe if you know nothing about it then you shouldn't be talking at all? But you have the right so let it fly. But I think you really need to re-read my first post. Lighten up? Dude I made a comment to someone and that person became violent. Do support this behavior? Sir I had the class to pick up Greg's helmet and hand it back to him. Bet Greg never told anyone about that. But then again it is all he said I said crap and only the poeple involved truly know what happened.

I mean all I wrote were facts. Yes I know your beer comment was a joke, or is it really? And in what way did I talk smack about Greg? I only comment about how you think he has great car building skills. And why can't Greg respond back? You could call him and read to him everthing I wrote and type up a response for him as I assume he doesn't have internet access.

As said before I will be there to race and it will all be worked out on the track.

And putting our profiles in your post helps out your side how? Maybe I missed that one. Trying to make someone look lesser than you? Doesn't matter cause you don't know me and I don't know you, but if you approach me at the next VORRA race, we can discuss this over some cold Diet Pepsi; sorry no beer since I have to drive 200 miles home after the race. http://www.race-dezert.com/vb3/attachments/old/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Like I said, I was responding to Driftin's comments. Very simple explanation and yes, if someone was talking trash to a racer like Driftin stated, then yes, 1. they are a fawktard and 2. they need to bring it, not sing it. http://www.race-dezert.com/vb3/attachments/old/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Sorry, don't have Greg's phone number or e-mail address and for some reason, the site doesn't let him register so he can respond.............

Hmmm, don't know about y'all, but most people I know would take that as insulting their personal sensibilities............

Just one last question that I hope you answer unlike the other one, how soon did you come across them after they broke? From reading your account, the comments made to someone who was just dragged off the track after breaking, therefore knowing that they just lost the points championship (hmmm, adrenaline rush perhaps), refering to their race prep and related items would probably be offensive to most drivers/crews that have their heart into the sport. Perhaps you timing just sucked.

No biggie, let's move on and http://www.norcalbigdawgs.net/phpBB2/images/smiles/13.gif

Enough , I think the biggest crime here was poor timing.
Two things can happen here - One, would be we keep this petty battle alive or two, realize stuff breaks and races are lost .
A $1.98 bolt has cost Parnelli Jones a finish. If any of you have seen any of Tony's videos, I think you'll agree they're first class As we all know, Prairie City will spend 4 MILLION $$$$ this year on the VORRA site alone. Right now, Rich is working with Ivan Stewart to possibly host a Pro Truck race, So potential sponsors are viewing this site. I would like to see our site kept current. Movin' Dirt will be a great asset to help validate OUR racing here at VORRA. Let us reconize our problems, find resolution then move forward. 16 years of racing experience? I am impressed. In 35 years in several types of motorsports activity it has come to my attention that there are some who know it all. Movin Dirt Idiot (MDI) seems to be one of those. His Truck (the one with the plywood bed) is superior to those in VORRA and he can do a better job than they can. I heard that comment. I have been in this type of racing for a year now. Far less then the guy (MDI) who stated he could beat the trucks in VORRA with his prerunner(the one with the wheel barrel handel rear bumper) so I am sure he knows better than me.....Butt,,,,, his mouth is the most obvious factor here. He needs to show all with his actions and not his mouth. Anyone can talk a good race but real racers let their actions speak for them. MDI probably knows more than me (16 years and all that) but the best racers I have seen are usually humble. The question I have is, why would anyone have the nerve (or extreme lack of class) to go up to a guy who just broke out of a race and start telling them their truck was junk. Maybe not the exact words MDI used but his implication, and not expect to be told to f..k off. One of the things MDI does not realize is that Greg is a nice guy. He will always help others and I (in my only one year granted) have heard Greg go to great lengths to avoid talking down about anyone. MDI did not realize that people he tried to rally to his side in the incident know this had tried to avoid hurting his feelings that day by just letting him vent about the incident.

Let it go Tom, this was already done with at the track so really doesn't need any more air play. If Greg and the MD guy have an issue they can work it out among themselves....Curt
