time for a new motor, what should i do?

just tore down the motor in my play car. it was a chevy 350 with a blower on it. so i would like to stick with something that would fit in the same area with out too much new fabrication. i have got a lot of opinions from people on what i should do. dont really care to rebuild it cuz it is already bored out to 4" and my mechanic tells me that is too much. soooo..... im looking at all my options a new 350? 383 stroker? zz4? ls6? im looking for decent power around 400 hp that is reliable and will run on pump gas and not break the bank. i have seen engines that would work from 2k to 10k and would like to be around 3k wich i know i can get a new crate motor for. any opions or ideas? it is a mid engine car running through a t400 trans and a quickchange rear end.

That's pretty funny, the stock bore on a 350 is 4.000"
Sounds like your mechanic wants the engine.

Which 350 do you have? like bajarunner11 said, the 350 has a stock bore of 4.000". Do some research on it before you just throw it away. What problems are you having with it? A blown 350 can make quite a bit of power on pump gas. What kind of blower is it?
