View Full Version : They must have wanted a trophy

Well I stayed home from Glamis this weekend to get some stuff done on the race truck . I woke up this morning to get started , and when I got outside I see that some waste of life has stolen my hood . As I looked at the truck a few things ran threw my mind . First off is the hood is un useable to anybody else but me because of its modifications . It will stick out like a soar thumb . Second , they didn't try to take anything else . I guess you could say i was lucky , but I look at it more like they were really stupid theives . Third , if you are going to steal my hood and then try to wipe off my car to get rid of your fingerprints you left ................... Make sure you wipe both sides idiot !!!! Nevertheless somebody got nothing more than a wall trophy , because like I said it has been modified to be a one of a kind hood , so having it on their truck would be a dumb thing to do . With how close knit the dezert community is , somebody will see it someday , either in someones garage on the wall or on their truck . Then i will come and run you over for fun . Until then enjoy my hood !!!

The sad part is that I have parked my race trucks in the same spot for over 7 years now without ever having any problems . Nothing really gets stolen where I park them . I guess because of a loser now I have to keep my truck at the shop 24/7 . That's sad !!

To anyone that might know who took it ......... I'll make you a deal ............ I'll give you $1,000.00 to get me info on it and I will handle it myself . Simple as that . You get a grand , and I get back a $200.00 hood , and some satisfaction of knowing that someone has been educated on the consciquences of stealing someones stuff .

Hey Dan, what if I get you another 200 dollar hodd then I keep the difference of a grand??

No I'm sorry to hear this BS as well, I keep my truck parked on the street in the same city. I just dont like to hear crap like this.

You know I'll be keeping my eye out - you talk to the neighbors yet?

Dan, i have never taken an up close and personal look at your hood before, what are the distinct characteristics of it so that i can keep an eye out for it. a grand in hand would be nice but watching the thief get educated would be reward enuff if you ask me!

Thanks Matt for putting it up on DR .

As for the hood ............ I had to make two holes in the back corners of ( 1 1/2 inch holes ) it to clear the top of the King Bumpstops . The front is also cut where my bumper runs threw it . Like I said , it must be someone that wanted to put it in their garage , because there is no way you can miss it on a truck . I have only seen one other truck ever with the same Hanneman coversion glass in the front that my truck has . That's one total !!! Some punk might have taken it though thinking it fits his tacoma , and he thought the scoop was cool ........ Who knows . When he finds out it doesn't fit then he'll probably try to sell it or something , or like I said just keep it on the wall . Thanks for the help guys .

Hey Dan- Good luck in finding this piece of CR^P! And I will agree with you...don't involve the cops, otherwise nothing will happen except your hood will end up in an evidence locker and the $hithole who stole it will most likely get probabtion for 60 days! This whole attitude about letting people steal your stuff because it is only stuff is BS! I work for the stuff I have, no one gives it to me. It is not easily replaceable, and it did cost ME money, so why shouldn't I be able to maim or mangle some guy trying to split with my Foxes?

And just a few words of advice...-throw down butter knife-

Actually the cops did come out and make a report and also took the prints off the truck that the idiot forgot to wipe off . I would just rather get it myself because I know they never will . Like I said it was never the money of the hood that made me mad , it was the time I took on it to make it fit perfect and such . The funniest thing I remembered was the RDC stickers that were on the hood . I wonder if the clown is reading the threads right now ?? Oh well one day I will find who did it , then vengence will be mine !!

Funny thing happened to me over the weekend .......... A guy called Total Chaos and asked Nicole if she could get ahold of me to have me sign an old hood of mine he has . She gave him my number and he called me up . I told him I wasn't going to sign it but I did want it back since it was stolen . He came up with a bs story about buying it from an asian guy at the swap meet for 20 bucks . When I asked how he knew it was mine , he had no answer . Anyway , I got his home number and address so I will be going over to get my hood this week . Should be exciting to say the least !!! After all this time someone calls and asks if I can sign the hood .............. Fish has three words for situations like this .

yeah...if he's the one who acctually stole it, I doubt he would want to get a hold of you to have you sign it...think about it. he probably bought it from the guy who did steal it...and if he did know it was stolen, again, he wouldn't want to contact you.

That is too stupid to believe. If guy on the phone stole it - whoa - shock and awe. I usually try not to be the voice of reason, but you might just call the police, because either way, guy on phone is in possesion of stolen property - whether he bought it or not. I just dont want to read about WFO DAN in trouble w/law over chump theif. I do want to hear how this story ends. Good luck.

It doesn't seem like Dan got the guys info when he was on the phone, and it doesn't seem like he had caller ID to see who was calling and call them back. Might be a lost cause???

Well after a year and a few months I got my hood back . Of all places , I found the guy threw the good old RDC classifieds . He was selling a steal stock hood for his Tacoma , so I thought what the heck , I'll look at the contact info to see if it is the same guy that changed his number to try and avoid me . Sure enough the name was the same , and he was even nice ( read stupid ) enough to leave his work number for his ad . To my surprise , he worked at a place that I knew , so I called and made sure he really worked there . I talked to a friend of mine that was his indirect boss and told him this was the guy that stole my hood . Well he told the guy that I was coming down for my hood so he had better bring it to work with him . The kid still sticks to his lame story of the " asain guy from the swapmeet " , but needless to say I got it back yesterday . In the end karma caught upto the kid also as he is now a member of the unemployed ( of course not because of this situation ) . All in all it took a while , but as I said all along , I would get it back one way or another . Thanks to RDC for having a classifieds section , and thanks to the kid for being dumb enough to post an ad on it . Good times !!

To bad the truck is elsewhere now, is it getting shipped?? Also to bad there wasnt any physical damage as well. But I guess being unemployed is even worse especially when the next company tries to ask for a referral.

Atleast it was only your hood and not your whole car.And it was not your brother that ripped you off.Good to hear you got it back.
