All I know is, that if the rumor I heard is correct, looks like I will be racing a DRIVE race beginning of next year! ....But I won't let the cat out of the bag...

We are very pleased to announce that DRIVE Off Road Racing will be heading North to Primm Nevada to kick off its 2010 season with SNORE on February 19th - 21st at the Battle at Primm.
Many of the drivers that have been racing with us have been talking about SNORE's Battle at Primm since last year. It was definitely a race that we did not want to schedule too close to. SNORE had 275 entries last year and will most likely top 300 this year. Kicking off our season with SNORE also allows us to start our season farther away from the very popular and successful MDR Dash held on New Years in Plaster City. Many of our racers were hoping that we didn't schedule too close to that race so that they could go out and compete on New Years and have a great time. Now they can and should.
DRIVE's role at Battle at Primm will be much like 1450.org, PRO 9, PRO 1600, etc. Everyone will pay SNORE their entry fee. Racers that are planning on Continuing the 2010 season with DRIVE in Plaster City will pay a $100 fee to DRIVE. $25 will go to year end points funds, $50 will go to driver payback, and the remaining $25 will go to awards and expenses.
All racers that sign up with DRIVE for this event will receive points towards the 2010 DRIVE Championship Series along with a 50% payback from DRIVE.We will also be brining the TWITTER real time update software with us so that everyone that can’t make it can view results as they happen.
We would like to thank everyone at SNORE for welcoming us with open arms! Over the next month we will be releasing more details as we work together with SNORE.
The remainder of the 2010 series dates will be announced later this week as we still have a few details to work out. I’ve been working on the schedule since July. As most of you know it goes to a random lottery with the BLM. Random means changes and re-planning.
After the last race, I couldn’t be more excited to start the next season. It was the most fun we have had all year and I look forward to doing it all over again.
See you all in Primm.

We need to start putting together a plan to help the volunteers save some $ getting up to Primm. Brian and I will start working on it soon. He's doing the post race re-cap right now. He always puts a lot of time and effort into them and they are a blast to read through.

Whats the WCT Townsel race? What does that mean?

Whats the WCT Townsel race? What does that mean? Here's a brief explanation.
On Saturday morning May 16, 2009, Wes Townsel with his two sons, Cody 10 and Tanner 5, left his wife Jennifer and daughter Hailey at home. They were headed out to go fishing on the East Highline Canal, a normal trip where they had been countless times before, but this time they would not be coming home. As Wes was driving his sons to the canal they were involved in a tragic accident that took all three of their lives.

Wes, Cody, and Tanner Townsel. Larry and Tracey were very close with the Townsel family. While he was out adding markers for our night race this year he got the call that all three of them had been killed in a car accident that morning. Larry, being the type of person he is, stuck it out all day and night to help us with the race. He stayed on the finish line with me until the last car finished. He got up early Sunday morning and went home to do what he needed to do. The weeks following the accident were a sight to see. Multiple fund raisers to help the family that were left behind. They even stocked a small pond in a local park with 500 fish and had a fishing tournement to benefit the family. There were hundreds of people there.
Larry is an amazing person. When you thank him he looks at you like "why are you thanking me? Thank you." This is my way of showing him how much he is appreciated and that we would do anything to help him or any one he cares about.
Expect a big celebration at this race. Music, food, and good times.
