Proud long distance member of the Locos Mocos Gang. I Live in Concord NC... Hence my given call sign NC Tom. I wont bother you guys with my poorly informed opinions on desert racing, just glad to be here. I have been a member (As if there is such a thing) of Locos Mocos since 2004. I just flew out there after the season ended with the Homestead Nascar race. I wanted to check out the 1000 in person and met up with the Locos crew. I have met many good people through desert racing and some of them will still talk to me!
I Grew up working for Nascar teams here in my hometown of Concord since about 1984. Racing is in my blood and I am 3rd generation racer. Have helped pit several 1000's, a 500 and Sanflippy 250. Best Baja exp. so far was working all night on the Herbst truggy to get Larry Rossler back in the race. I put him in my sleeping bag to get some sleep while we wrenched on the truggy for hours and waited for parts to come down the race course with other drivers. A much different deal than what I was used to doing behind pit wall at a Nascar track. Rossler is a very cool guy and I was hooked after my first race. Funny thing was, I didnt even know who won untill I got back home. I am all about spending as much Baja time as possible. We went to the East Cape and did some awesome tuna fishing and recreating this past September. You either get Baja or you dont... I get it.
