Hey all my name is Tracy and I like long walks on the beach and puppies.... ok right off you can hopefully tell I like to joke around and have a fun time with life. What could be more fun (with clothes on) than blasting through the desert with a car that has 20+ inches of travel.
My wife and I moved from Ohio about 5 years ago not knowing what we were getting into. What we surprisingly found was lots of water and LOTS of dirt to play in.
I did a lot of quadding back East through the trees and fields and always hoped for a rail of some sort. It wasn't until we got out here that we finally got one. It was a basic vw rail that was a basket case. I rebuilt it and learned a lot. I learned I needed more comfort, more travel, and more engine. We just recently stripped it out and sold most parts and are now in the process of building a dual purpose rail.
I have worked on race teams before, both in the shop and at the track and actually enjoy getting dirty. I have about 30 years experience being a mechanic although I haven't done it professionally for a long time. I just work on other peoples projects (its nice spending their money and still getting the satisfaction of working on something) and then when money allows it I am always upgrading my stuff.
I found this website through the guy and gals at Glamisdunes.com. I have learned quite a bit from that site as well as woodsbuggy.com.
I am currently building a beam buggy starting with a Mosebilt chassis. It'll have a turbo 2.2 Subie with an 091 for now and we will see how long that will last.
I would like to get on or at least help out with some race teams or individuals that need help prepping the cars. I want to learn more about fabrication as I don't have a lot of experience with that and the tools used. I'm a quick learner and hard charger. Huuaaahh (Army)
During the day I am now an Environmental Health and Safety Advisor/Business Continuity Manager. Lots of big words that don't pay diddly with the company I work for...hahaha. I was a Field Engineer for about 11 years and before that mechanic.
Feel free to hit me up with any questions and look forward to hanging out.
