I am in the middle of a build for either the baja 1000 or vegas to reno. We won the whiplash sportsman series (same a pro without payback) and wanted to try something more challenging. Any suggestions? We plan to hit some BITD races to prepare.

looking good you would love Vegas to Reno. BITD is great series, great group of people. Large Large fuel cell has helped us out the most, and o mighty Elka shocks and etc..etc..
Good luck looks good

I think I have 12 or 14 gallons via a custom cell. Is that big enough? I also have the fox 2.5 internal bypass shocks going on the car.

Here is my motor so far.

New crank
New cases and crank bearings
aftermarket race rods
DASA +4 intake and exhaust ported heads with valves, race springs, and welded rockers
39mm dual carbs
CNC water impeller
Clutch upgrade
I am trying to decide on engine size. I have a fundy kit that is like 880 with stock stroke but I want to go with what is most reliable. I am thinking of an 800 or 840 at most with nickaseal coating on the cylnders and carbon coating on the pistons. What do you guys think?

That seems to be what size most people have. we have 17 gallon
Shocks are nice. Motor looks like should be real good.
