Robby?
Rob Mac in 12? Rumor is he will put a 1776 in his 1600 car. Anyone know the truth?
Anyone know how many laps for different classes?
JasonHutter
December 28th, 2003, 12:58
I looked all over SCORE's site and it's not there. We seem to usually find a lot of that out in the packet they give you when you check in.

Anyone know why Pflueger is listed in TT and Protruck?
John_Bitting
December 28th, 2003, 13:30
Because he is racing Protruck and Trophy Truck. He sold his race protruck but still has his prerunner protruck and will race that in Protruck.

Herder had a chevy body mounted on his truggy and the frontend was cutoff at the firewall and rebuilt by Nestor at Newline Products.

Has anything changed? I know this is a favorite race among alot of you, can someone please give me the low down.

Ask Mark Weyhrich the odds! The best equipment and the luck of the draw! Pretty hard to beat those odds? Looks like Laughlin should be good for spectators! I am counting the days!

Looking forward to this race once again.......We drew 701 which is always good, especially for us we are under suspended and under powered so hopefully getting out front we can make some dust and keep them behind us.

The best place to watch the race is at staging. http://www.race-dezert.com/vb3/attachments/old/images/graemlins/cool.gif

The hill! The hill is a great place, better than the bleachers, and if you bring Binoculars, you can see a lot of the course from up there.

Be advised . . . there will be a $10 per vehicle charge for "The Hill" this year.
$15 per person for the grandstands and you get the big screen "Sal-Vision".
Admission is free for the Leap on Thursday and the Pit Crew Challenge on Friday.

Martin,
Since I am always stuck selling stuff all weekend at Laughlin and not able to go out and watch the race out in the desert, I'm usually pretty bored, but last year when they put in the "Sal-vision", it was awesome. They had 3 different camera spots, one at the first road crossing, another at the second and the third at the roller section before the "Hill". It was nice to be able and watch them race in the infield and then look up at the big screen and see them hit the road crossing. You can even tell who is catching who and where. If your not sold on it totally, set one race aside and watch from the stands just so you can see what I'm saying. I talked with most of the media people (Bitting, ORC, Reese, Tony Tellier, Klaus...etc) and they loved it. Hard to miss most of the race. Now I'm not saying you shouldn't go out and pick your favorite spot but you ought to give it a try. Am I alone on this guys????..........Reese, Klaus, Bitting, TT?

From SCORE MEDIA CONTACT: Dominic Clark:
<font color="green">"Daily general admission tickets, good for grandstand seating, are $15
for each Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, children five and under are free. Daily
VIP tickets are $35 each for three days, good for admission to the Laughlin
Hospitality Chalet, including food beverage and special seating.
The stadium seating area will include the immensely popular SCOREvision
large-screen LCD display that debuted last year, showing live footage from
various locations around the race course.
Tickets will also be available for the three other designated spectator
areas around the course.
At a cost of $10 per vehicle, there are two areas off of Nevada State
Highway 163 adjacent to the racecourse as well as the popular 'SCORE Hill',
which overlooks the infield, start/finish area and the main pits. Admission to
these areas is on a first-come, first-served basis and no camping is permitted.
These areas will have limited refreshment and public safety services."</font color>
I wonder if you can still walk up to "SCORE Hill" for free?

Rory,
I was gonna blast you for referring to me as "media" but it's probably the media guys who should be upset!
Since I have the privilege of being able to park in the infield my opinion is kinda moot, but I’ll agree that Sal-Vision is an excellent addition to the Laughlin format.
To Chuck,
Josh and Jason Baldwin are the sons of Jim Baldwin. They are the Baldwin development/construction family. Carl Renezeder is also part of the family via marriage.
Nick Baldwin is part of the Riviera team owned by the Post family.
Bobby and son BJ are from Las Vegas.

What classes race on Sat?And what classes Sun?Is there plenty of seating at the infield?

All classes on Sat and Sun.
No seating on the "infield", you must have a pit pass to be allowed on the infield.
J_Dog
January 9th, 2004, 08:40
There's a few sets of large bleacher seating that look over the infield. Get there a litle early for the popular classes like TT, Class 1, Protruck. Also, the have the "SCORE Vision" huge screen t.v that they show views from around the course. Not a bad place to watch, plus contingency row & food/beer vendors are just behind the bleacher area.
