With 23 TT's pre-entered...who will pull the win ?

Since its such a short layout my money is on RG-31 for a win and for Jason Baldwin to make for the best pictures.

I will put my money on Herbst. I think getting off the line first is big. Mark Post, and Robby will be in it also.

with herbst off the line first phey have a good advantage, and rg will be fast, but im going with john herder. after watching him about 3 yrs ago battle with the truggy on saturday i know he will be one of if not the fastest but will the truck hold up is my question. is it confirmed that they are doing five laps instead of four this yr? and if so what classes are doing five?

I'd love to put my money on gordon BUT hes starting behind to many trucks, trying to pass and dealing with dust will slow him down a little, id say herbst or smith/ashley

Are there any hotels that will be betting on the race. I talked to the guy at the henderson race and he said they had a good turn out. It was fun to bet on the race.

Herder is also running his re-designed Newline front end on his former Truggy now TT. Spoke to Nestor yesterday, and he's putting some finishing touches on it... Word on the street is that its working great.

23 TT's @ Laughlin! A few new TT's making their debut, and alot of great racing. Its going to be one hell of a weekend!

My dinero is on Pfearless... double duty in TT and Pro Truck!

As long they have no problems, nobody will catch the Herbst's, as far as Robby goes, way to far back to win at Laughlin. But it could be as exciting as the 96 fireworks 250!!

As far as the Protrucks go, My bets on Dickerson in the first spot

In the Laughlin = those who start up front, stay up front

December 30th, 2003, 14:27
Gordon, Post (Welchel Driving), Pci Scott, and Herbst will be Top 4 at the end of the weekend. Not sure what order but those are the boys to watch in my opinion.

Rory
December 30th, 2003, 15:17
Sorry Harpo, after watching Robby pass 9 TT's in the first 30 miles at the 1000 this year, then after watching him lose 2 minutes in the pits with a tire problem and making 4 1/2 minutes back up in 42 miles, my money is on Robby. If Rob MacCachren was driving both days for Vildosola, I would have to think a lot harder on who to pick. For now, I'll take Gordon, then MacCachren/Vildosola, Scott, Post. Robby is going to be fun to watch..........I've been waiting for this for years!! 16 days to go.

i was just watching and old laughlin video when they started 37 class ones and the truggy went from 22 to 4 in one or two laps so it can be done.

December 30th, 2003, 17:05
THERES NO COMPARISON IN THE TRUGGY AND THE REST OF THE 1 CARS (EXCEPT HERDERS), BUT THERE ARE ALOT TROPHIES COMPARABLE WITH THE REDBULL TRUCK IF NOT BETTER, IM NOT SAYING IT CANT BE DONE, ROBBY G'S MY FAVORITE TO WATCH BECAUSE HES SO DAMN FAST, I HOPE HE WINS BUT...........................

I am sooo excited about Laughlin this year too. I have been counting down the days for the last few weeks. Is that a record number of TT's? I think Herbst will be first if not in the top three. I am rooting for Pflueger and Stienberger though. Riviera also will be up there. Didnt they win last year?

$ on 1-28-97-3-50-7-23-31...

1- First off, AWD killer truck
28- PFEARLESS and HUNGRY
97- Proven TRUCK, crazy driver
3- 1st last year, Always fast
50- Nut Bar and fast truck
7- Old Faithful
23- Fast Lap last year till lost Motor, Fresh truck
31-will his trans hold to Laughlin and 900HP... RG better beef up the front bumper with the RS...

Don't forget the Dondel Bros. #11. New mods to the AWD truck could be a threat, if it gets dialed in time. They've been very fast at Laughlin in the past.

ACID_RAIN28
January 3rd, 2004, 15:17
DONDELL AHHAHH. Only a few weeks left to finish and dial in new rear four link with the "FOX 4.3"prototypes , In a month that thing went from airshocks, to kings, to foxes. Never a dull moment in that camp!

My money is Robby, old school is going to be in session this year! He is finally in a REAL truck too! http://www.race-dezert.com/vb3/attachments/old/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Gonna put my money on Robby. Everyone remember the inverted starting order on Sunday? That's going to play into Robby's favor big time!!

KitRacer
January 4th, 2004, 23:11
Isn't it inverted finishing order?????

Harpo
January 4th, 2004, 23:19
The last two years the field wasn't inverted. The teams don't find out until after Saturday's races weather SCORE will invert the field or not. (keeps the cherry pickers honest)

Will_Higman
January 5th, 2004, 09:44
The starting order for Sunday is determined by the finishing order on Saturday per the Score literature I just received. If they stay with this it should be a big advantage to start up front on Saturday?

RE:"With 23 TT's pre-entered...who will pull the win ?"

Klaus,
Just put your money on Ashley / Smith in the Enduro TT and be done with it. It's their turn to whoop some butt after battling with that DNF'ing POS tranny all last year and now it's fixed. They know how to run at Laughlin. http://www.race-dezert.com/vb3/attachments/old/images/graemlins/wink.gif RG is too used to going in left hand circles on asphalt to pull off a win in the dirt these days but will be fun to watch while he's running. Tranny is going to be the weak link on his car.

Its 24 TT's now...Bucky Struck entered yesterday.

MikeLeung
January 6th, 2004, 23:07
What's amazing that of the 23-24 TT's entered....there all legitamate trophy trucks. No high end prerunners, class 8's or 7's. Should be a great race.

There is one thing I don't like...we 1600's have to race with the 5's, 9's and sportsmen. We have the largest class and we should be racing in our own heat. SCORE should combine the 10's and the SCORE Lites into one race.

Bill
January 7th, 2004, 00:00
talked to PCI scott today and he said there were now 26 TTs entered http://www.race-dezert.com/vb3/attachments/old/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

What about good'ol Larry Ragland ??? He's for sure one of the big names in Off Road...I'm not sure how he has done in short course races, but he has experience and could possibly come up with the win...if Arnold doesn't break...

I'd say Robby, with his 'close your eyes and step on it' style of racing will put a good fight and if not first, will get at least 2nd...

Dan McMillin
January 7th, 2004, 12:21
26 trophy trucks? who else hasn't entered the race already?
also good to see 30 class ones. Corky McMillin soon to enter as well. 76 or 77 years old and still racing, not to bad!

Rory
January 7th, 2004, 12:26
With Robby it's either first or last. There is no in-between.....just the way we like it. Dave, I know your just kidding about the turning left thing, since it was the 2 road courses Robby won on this year in NASCAR. 8 days and counting. BTW, Larry Ragland will be running with Chet Huffman if his truck is done in time.

John_Bitting
January 7th, 2004, 12:33
Herder and Robby for the Win in TT. They both will drive the wheels off the car. PCISCOTT needs the win in TT, Pflueger would love to prove he can do it in only his second race. Its gonna be awesome, Its anyone race as proven in years past. Maybe some side bets will be made at the Caboose lounge.

dave ashley and dan smith (who still have my wire cutters and owe me a beer for towing thier truck at primm haha). that truck with the fixed tranny should be the most reliable proven setup truck. no wierd suspension systems, not so much HP it breaks stuff, lightwieght and simple, proven design. its like a big pro-truck with more HP, and they both know how to drive. id really like to see pflueger win, and its totally possible, ill be cheering for them for sure. gordon i think will break something or get too many flats, but will be the fastest lap time or something. post and herbst...they got a chance, herbst will take class 1 i think. id like to see the dondell bros do good as well. the truck is a work of art and they deserve a good finish! renezeders truck i think will still be too new to win, but i think itll show some people what time it is for sure. scotts truck is a toss up. hes definetly a good enough driver, and the trucks fast enough. hes due for a win or at least a good finish.
