How far is it from Vegas to laughlin? I was planning on celebrating a friends birthday in vegas on the same weekend of the race, and I wanted to go to the race during the day and party at night.

Yup, it's about 2 hours from Havasu on the gas, so I'd say around an hour and fifteen minutes.

For the newcomers...We started rdc a couple of years back right after Laughlin. I think it was 1999 or so? So the chu-chu bar at the Ramada turned into a tradition celebration/hangout. Lots of names got put to the faces behind them.

I think last year there was some confusion over it beeing on Friday Night or Saturday night....so it was little bit each night.
Then I remember once that we had so much drinking spending money that it turned out into a huge pile that we just left on the counter and the bartender just took whatever he needed... then everyonce in a while we put a 50 directly in his pocket as a tip. I think that was in Primm in 2001. Anyways, there will be yet another readers get togetehr at this race.

The Choo Choo bar get together was always a big success as well in the past @ Laughlin.

We are there Thurs, Fri and Sat night just hanging out. The largest group is usually Friday night. But in the Caboose lounge (aka Choo Choo Bar) just look for RDC shirts. Its open to everyone, its a popular place among all the racers, not like its just an RDC thing. I look forward to seeing everyone next week. Thank you for the support.

Under agers usually get hassled by security if you are in or around bar or casino floor... if you look 17 you'll probably be asked to leave the bar area... however, and there always seems to be a however, in the past some youngins have been left alone for hours on end because they were in the "inner circle" and out of plain sight. Don't get your hopes up though.

We have done donations different ways in the past. One way is all the money gets handed to me and I buy rounds all night and set them on tables, then there was the stack of money that everyone would come up and throw money onto a table(disappeared one year) so we dont do that one anymore. Then there is buying rounds, if you want to pitch in $20, buy $20 worth of coronas and set them out, you want to spend $100 just buy a couple of rounds here and there. Its super low key and everyone just sits around talking, its a tiny bar so dont expect some huge party. Its more of a come say hi have beer type thing.

It shouldn't be hard to find the Baldwins or any of the other TT teams. They usually all pit on the other side of the infiled area of the race course, opposite of the grandstands. You won't miss it.
