This was posted by ESBMike on another fourm and this is the reason why The Piece holds together:

-the engineering in the piece i so advanced that to the laymen, it may seem backwards. many many hours of the most trying R&D testing, along with thousands of hours of planning, thinking, and drawing board work using the most high tech testing and diagnosis equipment have left us with some highly sophisticated, ground breaking advances in offroad racing technology.

-ratchet straps have been proven to exceed the effectiveness of duct tape in holding down the vital organs of the truck including the trasmission, the motor, the battery, the spare tire, and the floor jack (if we carry one)

-cutting off old pieces of existing parts of the truck to make way for new ones is unneccesary. such items as leaf pack hangers, bent bumpers, cooler holders, and other stock reinforcements have been proven to be a vital part of the newly fabricated truck parts.

-zip ties can be used in place of bolts, and they should never be trimmed.

-bent u-bolts are actually encouraged. how are they going to fall off now? they wont.

-money is better spent on high tech electronics like DVD players and color GPS systems, rather than on useless things like shocks, fiberglass and suspension parts. all of these parts can be borrowed indefinetly.

-washers are useless pieces of metal taking up the extra few threads on the bolt that are holding it on, and just add wieght

-the best way to notch your fender wells is to simply install tires that dont fit.

-a weld is stronger than the tube itself. therefor, leave as big a gap as possible when fabricating, as to have as much weld-material in the joint as possible, making the joint stronger.

-the rear bumper of the truck should have crumple zones engineered into it, as to not bend the frame

-the cool "the piece" and "what a joke" stickers are more important than the sponsor stickers, as they get more attention from little girls since they are "different" and "funny"

-making your motor fast is pointless, as that just breaks other stuff. slow=fast

-nickle plated tie rods add horsepower, their slick design is far more aerodynamic than powder coating, making the vehicle noticable faster

and lastly

-a license plate turned backwards makes an excellent number plate. just add spray paint.
