Fish, I have been viewing RDC for a long time and recently became a member. I know some of the folks that use this site and would like to meet a lot more of you people, so hell ya! The carts are indeed pretty fast along the back stretch. And they are a drivers cart because most appear to be pretty equal in terms of performance. The best driver (in a clean race) usually wins. Even if you don't take it too serious (like me) they are ton of fun to get sideways in. The only complaint is I heat up and sweat like crazy in the head sock and race suit. You might want to bring some anti-fog because when you drop the shield on the helmet things can get steamy. Sometimes you can just run with the shield up but other times they'll flag you for running with it up - depends on who's working I guess.

Don't let Dromo 1 intimidate you either. My wife has run it and she did pretty good. Even if you suck behind the wheel it's a lot more fun than sitting around and boozing it up or watching re-runs on the boob tube.

Do you shift gears in the carts? Also how big can you be and still fit in those things? Im kind of tall...

I'm 6'3" and I fit just fine. No, you don't shift. There is a go pedal and a slow pedal. You could toss a 10 year old in one of these and he/she could make it around the track just fine. One other thing... if you decide to bring a girl and she wants to run she will need some decent closed toe shoes.

All Day Sat & Sun = $25.00

The Arrive & Drive races are split into 12 minute heats with up to 9 drivers racing together, so you can expect to experience the intensity of serious racing. The karts are maintained equally, allowing the driver with most ability to win. Each driver receives a printout of their racing statistics.

Whether you are friends or foes, relatives or co-workers, Dromo 1 allows you to go head to head in a fun and competitive environment. With up to nine drivers competing in each race, find out who has what it takes to finish at the front of the pack. Who can take the checkered flag? Who can set the fastest lap?

I say $10-$20 each and Winner takes all?? Winner = fastest total time for a 12min session or whatever one session is, not just fast lap.....

Or if you guys want we could do a 1st 2nd and 3rd so more people have a chance....like 60% first, 25% second, 15% 3rd....

Side bets will probably lead to some interesting driving in the corners. A "team" could clean up on the side bets if one person was a punisher and the other ran clean to take first. Once you get spun and hung in a corner it's darn near impossible to make up that time. You might have to throw a clause in that says only clean racing can claim the side bet $$$. Fastest lap sounds good.

I'm down for whenever the date is set.

We can put a spectator as a CRB for the race lol. Any dirty racing will not be accepted and will result in a DQ from the sidebet lol.

After meeting a lot of people on this board, sorry to say it but Fish has the advantage only weighing 90 lbs.!!! The karts have 9 HP at dromo so check this out:

Fish (90 lbs.) / 9 HP = 10:1 W/HP
Dan Vance (250? lbs.) / 9 HP = 28:1 W/HP

Now that gives you the odds too.

Im ready........lets race........we (McKenzies vs Donahoe) A.K.A Buggy guys vs truck guys used to have dromo night all the time it was a blast.........we even had a trophy to take home that got passed back and forth depending on who won each time, and you had to bring it back different every time ( new sticker, paint, or object glued to it etc.) It was pretty cool........

I THINK that it should be early eveing. FISH you only have half a truck right now. you need to have most of the day to work on the peice. I HEARD you can't drive fast enough and worried about the piece not keeping up with twisted so you begged DV to team up with you so he could give you some decent peice lap times. sure the peice will hold up? i remember what happened last time he drove.

Ya that was a lot of fun. It was a big joke when they Black Flagged me they are idiots you like barely brush up against people in a corner and they black flag ya. That was a good race too for the first like 5 laps it was Me, Dan, Rob, and Craig all 1-4 and we kept switching back and forth that was good racing then they went and F'd it all up!!

I had never been before, It was worth everydime I spent!!!! fastest lap I pulled though was a 29 sec, lots of lap traffic that didn't move out of the way, I was behind several people for a couple of laps and they never blued them, ohh well. We got there just after 2pm and we still had to wait till 3:15.

Gotta say thanks to Austin for turning me on to this place, Me and my friends had a blast!!!

Yep, that was fun. Fish needs to control his rage - he got behind the wheel of something with twice the power of what he's used to driving and let it all go to his head. By the second turn he had already hit three other carts. I got spun (wonder who did that?) on turn 5 and ended up facing the wall. The damn course worker just sat there and looked at me... I had to grab the front tires and roll myself back away from the wall. Lost about 15 seconds right there and from then on was just out to have fun. If you didn't attend you missed out. It ain't the cheapest way to have fun but it's worth every penny.

Classic moment in sports history was Fish's reaction to his black flag... he got slapped Rick James - biotch style! I've been there before and have never seen them so anal about the NO BUMPING rule. WAJ.

I know who spun me... I should clear that up. Austin might have nerfed and rubbed everyone and everything in sight (at least twice) but it was pretty clean nerfin and rubbin. One of the hardest hits of the day was actually my fault... someones mom was on the track and she cut in front of me and stopped and just as I hit the brakes I nailed her pretty good. Funny thing is I didn't even get a warning from the course workers. I guess they were too busy watching you Fish. It's all in good fun. That's the best thing about Dromo 1 - it's damn good fun. Even if you get punted from behind or flagged it's still a great way to blow 25 bucks.

sorry i couldnt make it guys, i really wanted to but something more important came up. but after a day of hard work (ok, some playing to) the ROR is is just about ready for the season opener next weekend. the track is great and Greg and Jen and I and everyone else involved are super stoked fot next weekends event. come on out and suppport the people that are trying to make off roading racing a local thing!

Devin and I had to work, we made it out there about 6ish. My best lap was a .293. That was pretty fun. I can't wait to take out one of the Rotax RM1's to Xplex now! lol
