We here n California have 4 measures to vote on today and one of those measures has some vital importance. Prop 56 would allow the democrats in Sacramento to pass just about any bill through with only 55% of the vote and we all know that would end up bitting us in the a$$ down the road. Vote no on 56. The other measures prop 55, prop57 and prop 58 I will vote yes on. GET OUT AND VOTE.l

What did you guys think of the new automated touch screen systems? They weren't working in places this morining, but other than that I think they were great.

The one I went to (ie someones garage), you stuck the ballot sheet into a slot, then opened a book up connected to the machine that exposed certain holes with the choices depending on the page, then you poked a hole in with a kind of pen scribe thing.

Oh and I *really* hope prop 55 doesn't pass. I hope you guys looked at that one closely. If the idea of selling 12 billion dollars in bonds during our fiscal crisis doesn't scare you off, the fact that the interest is the same price as the bond should. Basically we would be taxed 24 billion dollars, and half of that money would go to the banks' profits. As much as I hate to say this, why not just raise taxes to cover the cost insted of paying out an extra 12 billion dollars in interest?

I really liked the new electronic system. Insert card, touch screen, verify your selections, submit ballot, hand the card back to someone, get the I VOTED sticker and you are done. Even the old people (80+) that were voting could actually READ the screen too. Super easy and if you screw up you can go back and make a change WITHOUT having to go through the hassle of getting another paper ballot. Sure, people argue that it can be hacked, or that it might go down... but you can still "cheat" using the paper system. All in all I really prefer the new touch screen systems.
