Just bought a '94 4x4 Pickup with the 3vze. I couldn't find the damn zerks on the balljoints so I was looking at websites on how to grease the balljoints and they showed pictures of where the zerks were. Got back under the truck and I must not have the factory balljoints, I knew I wasn't blind! The only thing i have is a 5-6mm (around there) bolt head thats is on the opposite side of the threads of the bjoint. If i take this off will it uncover a zerk fitting? I'm afraid to undo it which is stupid considering the amount of work I have done on trucks, hehe. Oh yeah, and when I push the boots in it feels like they are bone dry inside so I need to get something in them quick.

you can unscrew that bolt and thread in a metric zerk fitting and grease away. I had the same issue with my yota and I ended up cross threading a standard thread zerk in there and it worked good enough to get a bit of grease in there. the attached pic is what happens when you dont grease you ball-joints and try and drive your truck like a TT!

Got some 90 degree 6mm zerks and they fit and cleared everything just fine. Thanks.
P.S. Now I hope I never get to see my balljoints look like trailer hitches!
