ok good news. talk to marc in his hotel oops hospital room. he's in good sprits and will be ok. he's just a bit beat up and a little tired. if all goes well he could be out as early as tomorrow. they checked his head and it was all clear. though his wife thinks the doctor missed something cuz marc still wants to race. lol!

hi every one thanx for the post and such marc apprecaites it and says thanx! he had a set back yesterday, his other lung parcialy colasped. though today according to his wife its back to normal and they will be extracting the drain tube back out of it.this is a copy of the e mail i got from her:
"Thank you all for your prayers and phone calls.
Marc is doing better today. He was smiling and wasn`t in quite as much pain as he was in last evening. They stopped suctioning his right lung today. That means the right tube may be removed later today. That`s the good news. However, they`re still concerned about his left lung and continue to suction it. There`s a possibility he may be released on Sunday.
Elizabeth"

hopefully they didn`t give him so much morphine that he mistakes the jug of whizz for a jug of something else http://www.race-dezert.com/vb3/attachments/old/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hi everybody, I appreciate all the calls, emails, prayers etc....... It really helped out alot. The support from everyone brings the spirt up and I believe helps the healing process. I think thats what got me out of the hospital so fast. Ok, now for the details,lol......... I still dont remember exactly what happened. What I can attribute the accident to is not paying attention to new territory. I was riding at Cross Creek in Elgin Tx, where they had the Worcs race in Feb. I took off on the trails in the back area, part of the old Worcs course, and instead of doing some "recon" first, I believe I was riding a bit too hard. I hit a gully from some recent rains(I didnt see it) and it launched the quad, and me. I think I tried staying with it and the quad landed on my back and head and gave me a body slam into the ground! The bike ended up in some trees and bent the rear subframe. It knocked me out cold for about 45 min and some guys found me just as I "woke up". The Cross Creek personel picked me up on their 6 wheeler kawi and brought me to our truck. I felt my shoulder and I knew it was broke and my hip was sore. I didnt realise the severity of my chest area. So we loaded the bike and headed for the hospital. We made it back to the Round Rock area and went to the Hospital and thats when they diagnosed all the damage. They sent me to the Brackenridge Trauma center in Austin. Had a penthouse view of downtown Austin. I had some xrays and cat scans done and was told I would be staying for a few days. I was let out a week later. I am still a bit sore and am healing. Have slowly been more and more mobile. Went back to the doctor last week and they are concerned with the left lung...Some scar tissue or something. Have to go back next week. The doctors have given me a good prognosis and expect a full recovery so far. Expecting to go back to work this week, on Thur.
Thank God for safety equipment. It did its job otherwise I probly would not be here right now. Thanks to everybody on RDC......So far they are telling me about 6 weeks healing time......Will know a little more in a few days. Thanks everybody, all the support meant alot to me....RDC Rocks!

Welcome back and have a safe and speedy recovery. Dont rush it though, make sure you heal completely and dont have linguring side effects due to the fact that you want back on the quad. Have a good one and God Bless.
