I had a gear drive in my 350. took it out and put in a regular double roller chain. lined the dots up on the gears and put all of it back to together. it wouldnt start (acting as if the dizzy is 180 out) so i took spark plug out and put my finger over the hole cranked it till it pshhhh air out. i lined up the line on dampner to "0" on the plate on the timing cover, took dizzy cap off and it was...

What do you guys think the best setup is for a prerunner? Electric, mechanical with clutch, or a flexalite? I'm leaning toward an engine mounted fan rather than electrical and I like the simplicity of a flex fan, but I've also heard that at slow speed/high rpm that flex fans might not be optimum.

Anyone recommend a shop that can do a valve job that includes a bowl cut to trim the seats to match the bowls? In OC preferred. I have been porting these 18 degree heads and the seat is thicker (.020) than the bowl in a couple spots and want to blend them evenly into the bowls...

my 97 4.0 is overheating majorly up to 250 dgrees on the freeway and luggin, 230 on the street.... i dont understand why because i have replaced everything, radiator, water pump, thermostat, overflow, radiator cap, 16 inch spal fan, and flushed the system twice... what teh hel else could be wrong? its got 207k miles on it with no rebuil and still runs like a champ, but duznt like the heat. help...
does back pressure really generate torque? i have a chevy silverado 5.7 350 and i replaced my exhaust with a magnaflow muffler and it seems that i cant break my tires lose. idk if its the fact that they are BFG ATs or if i lost bottom end torque. if so and i did lose that torque is there any way to get it back? my exhaust is cut right after the muffler. any help?

I am putting a SBC in my ranger 1450 truck. My question is what degree thermostat would be best for my application? It is a fairly stock 350 with about 300 HP. I have a good Ron Davis radiator and will be using dual electric spal fans. Would a higher temperature themostat be better or lower?

It appears that coolant is leaking from the waterpump housing. It looks like tere's a weep hole and water is draining from there. Even when the car is just sitting in the garage with the engine cool. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

i have a chevy 350 5.7 engine out of a 98' K1500. im not sure if its worth building up or just get a new engine for the truck. it has 186k on it. has a new top end and some bolt ons. it runs like a champ and has smoked every truck that i have raced so far. but is it really worth keeping and building up? or should i leave it alone? or get a new engine?
