Ok, I want to graft the fuel filler door/ apparatus from a VW bug, to a fiberglass front 1-piece. Keep a stock, clean appearance. I have never seen a decent looking filler for a front fuel tank on a baja bug. What do you use to fasten/ secure the whole thing to the fiberglass?? I have a 1600 class car that has an old paint job, we raced it for awhile then stopped. Which would be better those new graphics that are like stickers or a paint?

OK I have been thinking about how to lighten the body of my 5/1600. How heavy is all the paint the the factory uses? And all the seam sealer.? I just steamed cleaned off all the under coating and when I picked up all the pieces it was more weight then I would have thought. Okay, so my truck is an 01, but im doing the whole conversion thing to an 06. Last night, we started swapping it all over. The grill, headlights, hood, all went on nicely. Sorry for what may seem like a lame question but I'm trying to make sense of this. Why is it that like zero percent of race chassis are painted or powder coated? I do realize that they must be inspected for cracks, and often times tubes have to be cut out and replaced; but still, in my mind it would make sense to have everything with a light coat of clear paint to keep any rust from forming. ...

Is it safe to use dzus fastener for fiberglass fenders? I got some polished ones with big aluminum washers. I always see guys using 1/4 Allen bolts, but wanted to use dzus because they are easier to remove. Thanks Mike

I'm keen on fabricating a couple for the rear of my Jimco. Unfortunately I haven't seen any up close and wondered how they are constructed. Are they just some stainless mesh captured by two layers of ali riveted together?

Soooo I have noticed hat the whole retro thing is starting to gain some attention, and am wondering if there is anything in the works for the 73-87 chevy trucks. Like a 1 piece clip/bedsided? I think that there could be some really cool things done with this truck in the way of a "retro" look. Is anyone interested in this or doing it already????
