As some of you know I work with ASO as their North American rep. I am always looking for ways to improve the interaction with the rally for everyone back home. I heard from someone at Parker that Robby's Dakar DQ was overturned. Has anybody else heard about this? I think it's pretty crappy to call him a cheater in front of the world press, and the quietly withdrawal the charge. Aholes.
With Dakar style roadbooks and a 4-day rally format, does anyone consider the NORRA Mexican 1000 to be a Petite Dakar?
I stumbled across this show from last year from Spain and has the best insiders look of a Dakar rally i have ever seen. Its all in Spanish but i am sure you can follow along. Can some one give me some specs on Robby Gordons hummer how much hp, travel, tranny, and so on? ive heard it was 4wd but it cant be Dakar legal with the tire inflation system am i wrong?

now that rg has finished 5th in the raid, will the aso still throw out his appeal and list him as being DQed after the fia review? even after proving them wrong? personally i don't think they much like being humiliated and they'll end up DQing him anyway.

Just wanted to say I am very proud of my big bro Johnny for doing an excellent job as RG s navigator in the most demanding offroad race in the world. Wish I could have gone this year to be apart of the madness. Oh well there is always the future!!!
