What are you guys using to protect your roll cages from rust? Our car is a Lothringer Class 1600 that we have been using Scotchbrite and WD-40 on, but we are looking for something that will hold up a little longer. It got a little rusty at this years 1000. I have heard of using lindseed oil, ATF and mixtures of those with WD-40. What is your favorite secret sauce?
OK I found a good deal on ebay for the R3. Only problem is the Shoulder straps are not connected to the back board. I see two slots where it looks like the D rings attach some how. I was hoping some one could look at theirs and/or put up a picture so I can see how these connect. Muchas Gracias
Does anybody know if it is SCORE and/or BITD legal to replace the little triangle window net that goes between the A-pillar and B-pillar with a clear piece of Lexan? Thanks!

Hi guys.I'm finishing up our truck to race the Mint 400 this year. Looking for ideas on how you transport tools, first aid, survival kits....on your race trucks??? And a good place to buy these items to meet tech?? Thanks for the help. Tom
What do you use? Where did you buy it? What's inside of it?
I have been wanting to buy a racing suit to wear while riding shotgun in some races in the future. First one won't be until April (HDRA Imperial 250) but I just want your guys' input and opinion. Is a 1 layer suit ok to wear? I just don't want to spend a couple hundred on a suit I'll maybe only use once. Who makes a good affordable (less than $150) 1 layer suit? Thanks everyone.
Can you recertify a 5 point harness? I have some that are out of date and need to know if they can be recertified.
Looking for information regarding the correct usage of safety restraint systems ~ AND ~ are head/neck/back injuries lower when the shoulder restraints are NOT used. Attached is info from GM & Mastercraft/Impact but I would like to know if any others have info regarding safe/proper usage (or the lack there of) of safety restraints. I've been in a crash with my shoulder harnesses in a "loose"...
I am super stoked on this bad boy!!! Big shout out to Chad Riccio at C.R. Designs in Arizona. Chad is best known around here for his participation on the Jagged X team both as a racer in the car and as the teams graphics and paint guy. If you have ever drooled over the amazing look of Jagged's cars then you have admired Chad's work already. I got Chad my Simpson Air Pro Voyager helmet,...
I already have a D-Cell and also have the hybrid pro. The D-cell makes my suit bunch up and squish the berries so that one is no more. Can't see away to fix that. Then i purchased the hybrid before trying. Told it was better. Seems to bang between my shoulder blades a little and dig in causing a bruise in center of back. Is this the same for the other head neck restraints? Is this a problem for...

Im thinking of running our stock master cylinder and booster under our dash (i dont have room in engine bay anymore and i dont want manual brakes). I think ive found a way to modify the brake pedal assembly to flip the swing motion and im building a custom dash and can make it fit. My only real concern is that the stock reservoir has a push on rubber cap (not sealed and bolt on like cnc). It...
Just wondering can you get helmets recertified?
I went out and bought some rear led lights for a chase vehicle and was thinking that at night this thing will look like a race vehicle and if i was out chasing our race truck and someone came up on it id be pretty pissed haha. i was thinking that there should be a light out there for pit or chase vehicles...any body else feel the same:confused:
I have some Nomex underlayers that I wear under my race suit. It is awesome, but it seems to be stretching out and getting bigger every time I use it. Anybody know what I can do about this? I don't put my Nomex stuff in the dryer, but maybe I should. Yes/no?
Hi I have a 2000 Ford Ranger Xlt and I just picked up a pair of Beard Super seat to replace my current stock seats. I have been looking for mounts/sliders without any luck. Dose anyone know if beard...

What is it about racing seat belts that make them no good after a couple of years? How many people do you know have been injured by outdated belts ? How come commercial airlines do not change their belts regularly ? Do any of you change out your passenger car seat belts every couple of years ? The only racing seat belt malfunction I am aware of is Dumping and that is caused by ...
i also posted about this outfit in the misc. section as well. they make clothing that incorporates peltier junction technology in clothing, head gear and shoes to keep users cool in hot environments or warm when it's cold. this could be huge in motorsports in my opinion. i don't know how to put up a link so you'll have to google it yourselves. it's fascinating.

I can't wear skate shoes like some people because my feet and back hurt like hell after standing in them for a few days. Thanks for any feedback
We’re selling brand new EMPI Super Seats and Crow Enterprises driver restraint systems. We bought these seats and harness’s planning to use them in our RZR build but ended up going with other seats due to lack of room in the RZR’s. Like I said everything’s brand new and hasn’t even been taken out of the box. We’re selling everything as a package for $480.00. I attached the links to exactly what...
How sticky is score tech on there rule of "roll cage bars must be at least 3" in any direction from the driver or co-drivers helmets while they are in there normal driving position." BITD states that any bars that may come into contact with the drivers helmets must be padded. The build is a sportsman build with a 90 toyota cab and frame. The issue i'm running into is that if I want to keep a 3...
We are in the process of building our first SCORE truck, a Class 3 Range Rover Classic and had been working off the old rule book until the new one came out a little bit ago. One big change noticed was the change from allowing rotary polymer cells in the prior book to being banned as of 1/1/11 this year. So with the rule change only allowing for nylon or Dacron woven cells with the rubber...
