I was just wondering if anyone in class 9 uses a steering brake, I have been told that they are legal and I have been told that they are illegal. What does everyone in class 9 think?
The www.pro-nine.com series awards will be held on Feb 11, 2012 in the afternoon at Dave and Busters in Ontario Mills Mall Ontario, CA. No host bar and food, games for the kids etc. Last year was a good time. Hope you all can make it. Racers, family, friends and Class 9 groupies are all welcome. If you plan to attend add your mark to this list so I know what kind of space to reserve. ...
It is an honor for me to say that I am going to be HDRA's Class 9 rep. I will try to make myself as available as possible for questions and recommendations. I am really looking forward to this 2012 race season and look forward to representing the best class in the desert, class 9!!!!! Thanks, Randy Ward #916
With the payback being offered how many swingers are going to make it out?
First try at editing. Not a lot of great footage. Just wanted to play with it. Hope fully BAP brings in better clips. Hope you still enjoy.

Hey Im new so this may be a question that gets asked alot but I am think of getting into Class 9 racing. Are the rules and regs deginated by SCORE, or SORNE, Im doing my research but I seem to not be looking in the right area. Also I am wanting to build a car what types of cost am I looking at, as well as how much to run a season? Thanks for you time.
Congratulations to Troy Gentry for his purchase of the former BUD Ward owned class 9 car, Troy is no newcomer to the desert as he has raced in the 1600 class for the last 2 years but had decided that swingers have more fun. Again congrats Troy and good luck! Michael "BUD" Ward
So I went with the 984 Ventura car testing today and boy does it make me want to build a 9 car. We made some good changes and when I left it was getting much better. Rulo from ORAF was there helping and they were still going to try some other stuff out. I hope today didnt make me..........................ummmmmm well I dont know! hahahaha build a car?
Looks like it is going to be a great race.......... let the banter begin! Class 9 #990 Creveling #984 Jorge #904 Peterson #903 Sluder #909 Ruble #911 Bolles #923 Caudill
ok so I know no one will really be truth full about this but I went 6- races between changes, I put fresh ones in for Barstow Holiday and Laughlin, and the lowers are both junk........I get the ones from KARTEK and my stops are very conservative at 5.7 inches of travel.. I know some people say you need to do them every race and I know Bud broke one last March at the BALLS OUT ( thanks to his crew...
I know there are purist who never want to see this rule changed but I would like to see it opened up. I believe everyone is in agreement that with the current rules an aftermarket R&P is allowed as long as it maintains one of the two stock type 1 approved ratios. When you eliminate a weak link you will find the next weakest link, I understand this. I do however think that allowing an aftermarket...
I'm currently going back through all my video tapes and will have over 25 mins of nine car action. i have filmed a lot Barstow, plaster city, and lucrene races and going to put cars in number order with pictures as well.for a few bucks any interest?

heres anther OLD school pic, last race the car was raced as a MID ENGINE............
I was hoping to do some HDRA races next year...just wondering if anyone else is planning on racing with them?
So I'm a little confused about the SNORE/MORE combo race later in the year....SNORE site says the Sept race is a combo with MORE, and will be SNORE's night race and has a class 9 bonus...MORE site says Chili Cook Off Race, and normally MORE has its own night race in July...which is supposed to be our "Big Class 9 Race"... IF the Sept race is a combo race, and IF it is a night race, and IF it...
I'm on the side lines for this race but i will be out filming the race. My trans is dead and i do not have enough cash to get it fixed. good luck to everybody and see you dudes in the dirt.
Would like to find out what other nine drivers sit in. Looking to freshen up the buggy, was thinking about the Corbeau baja. seems affordable anybody with expirence with this seat would love to here about it. Money is tight, but would hate to make a costly mistake. any ideas on affordable and quality i would appreciate.
I know everyone just keeps talking about the trans rules, which for the record I think should be open, but what about some of the other rules. Nothing to make it more expensive or anything else but easier. Like pulley size and fan shrouds for starters. Is it really going to break the bank to get a 36 hp fan shroud with a dog house? They are more available and look better than the old big...
I wish every one of my fellow swinger racers a great 2012. I hope each and every one of you gets to go racing in 2012, enjoy the desert and the lifestyle we all have come to love, with your families and friends, and BE SAFE !
Its been 2 years now and heading to number three. 2011 we are seeing the re formation of many of the other class "Pro" orginizations again now for 2012. Pro 1600, Pro 10 etc. Its time to figuure out www.pro-nine.com.. I beleive in the idea of www.pro-nine.com a mini series of 3 races within the promotors series for those that do not want to chase a full 6 race series with one promotor and...
I just got settled in the SoCal area, and I was wondering if I could tag a long to try to help out / learn a few things, with some of the class 9 guys. I'm in Oceanside now, and I want to help out, so please let me know!
