New Mendeola LQ-6 for class 10?
When I first saw this trans a couple of years ago I though for sure it was going to be the answer for class 10 yet after the initial press release I didn't hear anything.
I haven't heard of anyone running them until I saw the feature on the Alimicraft 10 car on the home page. Does anyone have any real world experience with this trans?
The price at the time of the press release seemed to be really good for a 6 speed sequential. Just curious why there hasn't been any talk about it with the resurgence of class 10.
How about you 10 car guys chime in on what tranny your running and what the maintenance cost are and time between tear downs.

Re: New Mendeola LQ-6 for class 10?
That Alumicraft is the first car with one if I'm not mistaken, in the US of course. My only complaint is the 4-lug dog rings. I have excessive wear on my S-5 with 6-lug dogs on 3rd gear when I am racing a short course style event. Every 3 races, 1500 miles, or so I have to put in a new 3rd gear because of the wear.

Maybe nobody is talking about the sickest new tranny on the market, but there are definitely people using them and getting fantastic results. 2nd @ parker in a field of 30+ cars. 2nd @ the mint and a win @ the fireworks 500. Those were 3 different cars with great results. That tranny shifts better than anything on the market according to john cooley. The 4 lug dogs are more of an advantage do to the fact that it allows for easier engagement, zero missed shifts and almost no dog wear

I know John says great things but I think he has a real close relationship to Mendeola. I dont think he would knock a sponsor and customer. Not to say its not the greatest thing since silicon B00Bs. I wish more cars had them to get more feedback. I guess just need more time.

I think they are a good trans just can't get them yet. I know of two people who have paid in full at the beginning of the year and have yet to receive their trans. At least as of two weeks ago.
